Those who wish to celebrate the season of fears, tricks, and treats with parties and all that booze in this area could download the Lyft application to receive their free ride home, amounting to $15.
In-charge of the free rides are non-profits, which include the Washington Regional Alcohol Program or WRAP, with the goal of keeping local roads safe from drunk drivers.
“Well over a third of U.S. traffic fatalities during Halloween involve drunk drivers according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Halloween is of particular concern for younger drivers as NHTSA data shows that, in 2022, 54 percent of drunk driving crashes on American roadways during the Halloween that year involved drivers ages 21 to 34,” WRAP stated.

Lyft has also issued their statement on this matter, saying, “Lyft is dedicated to providing access to reliable and responsible rides, and we’re proud to partner with programs like WRAP to offer Lyft as an alternative to impaired driving. Through our Roadway Safety Program and our partnerships with the public, we hope to empower our community with the tools to protect themselves and those around them this holiday season.”
