They impressed audiences in films “She’s All That” and “American Outlaws,” now they’re working with a DoorDash project.
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Ali Larter are among the latest stars to grace “Summer Scaries,” the official campaign of the food delivery platform for their “Summer of DashPass.” The celebrities are serving up nostalgia, humor, and a survival guide for the chaos that’s parenting season. Summer break, it is.
For context, Summer of DashPass – DoorDash has a subscription program, too, and that’s DashPass – is delivering five weeks of not-to-miss deals that are exclusive for the subscription service’s members until this July 30th.
In this program, there are thousands of member-exclusive discounts with up to a whopping 50 percent off not only on your food cravings, groceries, and summer essentials, but likewise concerning electronics. Over 120,000 businesses of the small and medium scopes will help survive summer’s most horrific moments.
“As the value of DashPass continues to grow with exclusive savings across restaurants, grocery, retail, and more, DashPass is the best way to save on all things locally,” said Ryan Parietti, vice-president, general manager, and the marketplace lead at DoorDash, told Ridesharing Forum.
The project with DoorDash? A short film that invited the first batch of DoorDash fans to try the Summer of DashPass program.
Since Prinze Jr. and Larter are horror flick stars, their appearance with DoorDash was inspired by their iconic roles in “Final Destination” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
The short movie reimagines the thrills of summer through a parental lens, revealing the chaos, costs, and challenges that come when kids stay at home for more extended periods during the season. From controlling their urge to have food delivered almost every day during their vacation to maybe switching between Netflix and DoorDash, viewers were abruptly amused, then shocked by the presentation. This, gratitudes to Superette, the in-house creative studio of DoorDash.
"I’ve screamed my way through my fair share of horror films, but the sheer volume of ‘Can we have a snack?’ in July is a terror I [wasn’t prepared] for as a parent. This film was a blast to make because it’s a fun, winking nod to that summer chaos we all face when kids are home from school. It’s that feeling of your to-do list multiplying in real-time,” the actress stated.
She added how DoorDash, for her, is her secret weapon to handle their last-minute cravings for sunscreen, and knowing that they, at last, could get what they need with just the launch of this app.
Her co-actor agreed, saying days at home with the kids are often chaotic, constantly running out of essentials, and the need to conquer boredom when they’re out of streaming subscription.
“In reality, having something like DashPass to get everything from pool toys to groceries dropped at our door is a game-changer. And with the Summer of DashPass deals, at least my wallet doesn’t have to be part of the horror story," Prinze Jr. continued.
