Sense Of Malaysian Community: foodpanda Malaysia Unveils Newest Campaign You’ll Love

The world is hearing a lot of good news about foodpanda lately, and foodpanda Malaysia is leading the new campaigns.

Ridesharing media are raving on this, since there’s a brand-new campaign that Malaysia’s division of the star Southeast Asian food delivery app has got going recently.

Sense of community

This time, they’re doing things with a heart. foodpanda Malaysia has decided to partner with the Merdeka season to offer perks centered on food, community, and a shared national pride.

The Merdeka season is so important for the Malaysian people. As the Southeast Asian nation prepares to unfurl its flags in a vibrant national pride display, the days from August 31st until September 16th will mark a celebration of reflection, unity, and celebration. August 31st will be Independence Day, while September 16th is Malaysia Day. Note that Malaysia Day is different from the day of their independence, since this is the anniversary of the signing of the Malaysia Agreement, which came into effect on this date in the 1960s, leading to the creation of Malaysia.

foodpanda Malaysia’s take on the Merdeka season is called “Lebih Meriah Bersama,” whose loose meaning is that it is a campaign centered on the Malaysian food delivery community.

It will run earlier than the official days of the celebration, with the campaign to be held from August 25th to September 28th, so the happiness will be extended from the one-night affair that’s Malaysia Day.

Pay homage to local flavors, national pride, and the everyday Malaysians who contribute to bringing pride, progress, and honor to their country.

The campaign features marches in the National Merdeka Day Parade, taking inspiration from the National Day of Singapore’s parades, then featuring the distribution of almost 7,000 meals across Klang Valley, Penang, and Johor, as foodpanda mobilizes its riders, staff, and partners for the full-scale and top-of-the-line celebration of unity, food, and fellowship.

Pau-Pau will march!

In a sudden turn of events, Pau-Pau, the official mascot and the face of foodpanda, alongside 32 riders, will march in the parade in Putrajaya this August 31st. Pau-Pau will be accompanied by EV bikes, 32 riders, mini-brand flags, and special edition uniforms, proudly representing foodpanda in front of a 100,000-strong crowd.

For the 6,800 meals to be distributed in celebration of the 68th Malaysian Independence Day, they will be shared across these locations and dates:

  • 25 August: Nasi Kandar Ciksue, Penang
  • 25 to 26 August: Restoran Nasi Kandar Farook and D’Laksa, Johor
  • 27 August to Koppiku, Ampang and Kejap Food, Bangsar South
  • 28 August in Bungkus Kaw Kaw, Putrajaya
  • 30 August in Koppiku, Bukit Bintang
  • 30 to 31 August at the National Day Parade booth, then in Putrajaya (featuring Marrybrown, Borenos Chicken, and Nasi Lemak Saleha)

“At foodpanda, we believe food connects us all. This Merdeka, we’re proud to honour our riders, celebrate the local flavours that unite us, and reward our customers with experiences that bring true joy – from exclusive deals to the chance of winning a Proton X50. It’s our way of saying thank you to Malaysians for making foodpanda part of their everyday lives,” foodpanda Malaysia’s marketing director, Steff Yong, stated.
