The woman keeps experiencing delusions, like this firm thinking they got the USA, here’s the report.
A 22-year-old woman from South Carolina named Naziyha La’Nay Weatherall was arrested, and never let to bond, after hiring a Lyft driver, stabbing him in the head, and attempting to steal his car when he picked her up.
According to police documents that Ridesharingforum.com obtained, Weatherall hired a rideshare driver from Lyft shortly before 2:30 p.m. last April 22nd, with the pick-up location she pinned at her apartment complex.
Upon the arrival of the driver, Weatherall allegedly approached the car, but stabbed the driver 11 times on the head and across the body.
The victim was brought to the hospital, and the delusional woman was arrested shortly after.
What’s interesting is that, her mother denied that she would hurt anybody like that.
“She’s not a criminal. She would never, ever, ever hurt anybody like that,” her mother told RSF. “And I understand the family’s side, I truly do, because we are all suffering. We all are.”
Weatherall’s defense team confirmed she was dealing with a mental health crisis, but is now under monitoring.
“She was undergoing a delusion in which she believed she was being trafficked, and panicked, and that’s how we’re at where we’re at today,” Weatherall’s defense attorney stated.
However, Weatherall has already been charged with attempted murder – and murder of interests, perhaps – as well as carjacking in bodily injury, and the possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Lyft has released their official statement regarding this matter.
The ridesharing company stated, "Violence like this has no place in the Lyft community or in our society. The driver’s well-being has been our priority, and we have reached out to them and their family to offer support. The rider accounts involved were permanently removed from the Lyft platform, and we are continuing to assist law enforcement with their investigation.”
