Previously, It’s Alexa - Now, It’s Dexa With Grubhub

The previous day, Ridesharing Forum talked about Grubhub’s integration with Alexa+. This time, it’s with Dexa.

Meet Dexa

Customers and food lovers in New Jersey, brace yourselves. You’ll now be able to order your cravings quickly and more conveniently via drones, that’s right.

Recently, Grubhub announced a test program that integrates the drone delivery offerings of Dexa for customers who are ordering from a certain part of New Jersey.

Dexa is a next-generation drone logistics service designed to provide fast, eco-friendly last-mile delivery for local businesses, such as Grubhub.

This newest initiative marks a historic milestone for automated deliveries in The Garden State, representing the very first time drone technology will work for this system, which is commercial.

“Our partnership with Dexa represents a major step forward in Grubhub’s commitment to delivery innovation,” stated Abhishek “PJ” Poykayil, the senior deputy for customer delivery operations at Wonder, Grubhub’s parent company. “By connecting Grubhub’s marketplace expertise, Wonder’s innovative mealtime platform, and Dexa’s expansive drone technology, we’re proud to introduce a faster and more efficient way for New Jersey diners to experience food delivery without compromising safety or reliability.”

The operations have started on March 18th, wherein eligible customers within a 2.5-mile delivery radius of the location can order their cravings via the Grubhub official app and opt for drone delivery. Get this, at no additional costs beyond standard deliveries and service fees.

However, it is very limited as it is only a three-month program to test the integration of advanced aerial technology within Grubhub’s existing marketplace system, but this still marks the first time Grubhub and Wonder are bringing drone delivery to its customers.

And, Alexa+, too

Previously, Grubhub made news again as it introduced its landmark collaboration with Amazon’s Alexa+

According to Ridesharing Forum, previous report, Alexa+ is Amazon’s next-gen AI assistant, launching earlier this year as your conversational agent personalized and run by LLMs or large language models. Alexa+ offers proactive, multi-step assistance, as well integrates with smart home devices. It is free for Amazon Prime members.

Its latest integration with Grubhub looks at resolving the communication gaps between customers and restaurants. Such as, not being able to change their mind when they need to change their mind.

With Alexa+ working with Grubhub, customers can order your delivery the similar way they’d talk to a waiter – ask questions about the food and drink, change their mind, and customizing the conversation. For more food, drink, and grocery delivery news, keep it locked right here on Ridesharing Forum.
