Celebrity chef Kristen Kish is the newest partner of Postmates for its first-ever delivery-only restaurant awards, and it’s called The Posties.
The Posties is hosted by food delivery app Postmates, created to celebrate off-premise dining, banking upon the idea that 75 percent of restaurants are consumed off-premise.
Just like DoorDash’s selections of the best barbecue and steak restaurants for Father’s Day, as previously reported here on RSF, it consists of three categories: People’s Choice, Industry Picks, and Winning Restaurants.
You know Kristen Kish as the Emmy-nominated Korean-American talented chef, TV personality, and bestselling author, catapulted to fame as the host of Bravo’s, not “Watch What Happens Live,” but “Top Chef.”
“As much as I love cooking, I also love ordering in,” Kish spoke with the RSF team. “That’s why I’m so happy to be presenting the first delivery-only awards to Los Angeles restaurants, The Posties by Postmates. Whether it’s sushi delivered cold or pasta delivered piping hot, we commend these winning LA restaurants and Postmates for bringing true dining experiences to couches across the city.”
The Posties is built upon the idea that most people today prefer deliveries for their meals, and yet several award-giving bodies, such as Michelin and those affiliated with the number one food magazine Food & Wine, only awards for in-person dining are cited.
Kish will be announcing the best restaurants for delivery soon. The People’s Choice winners are based upon popularity, or total completed orders, as well as “love,” or customer ratings, plus loyalty or the order-to-re-order ratio, or repeat customers. For this, the winners are Sugarfish, Kismet Rotisserie, Carla Cafe, Howlin’ Ray’s, and Ggiata Delicatessan, among various others.
Meanwhile, the Industry Picks are also chosen by Kish, in cooperation with the Postmates team members, industry insiders, and more, highlighting the restaurants that people from Los Angeles order from. Some of the recipients of the awards are Avi Cue, Porto’s, and Leora Cafe.
The restaurant winners will be presented with the ultimate The Posties trophy, and many can avail of special discounts available through the Postmates app official.
