The combined forces of Uber India and Ola India were no match for Rapido, also an Indian label or brand, since the latter has overtaken those two companies in terms of the number of users. Here’s the scoop.
Overtaken, overshadowed
For so many years, India’s mobility market based upon apps has largely been framed as a two-car race, between Ola India and Uber India. Ola had expanded across Indian cities, while Uber has defined how millions of Indians hail rides.
However, the market where these two companies move has rapidly changed, evolving in a manner that is far difficult to explain. Brand-new user trends and industrial trends point towards the fact that another label, not from the two, is becoming a force to reckon with, and that’s Rapido.
A recent chart and infographics presented by India Dispatch is showing that Rapido’s active users monthly steadily rose through 2025 and 2026, reaching a whopping 74 million by February 2026. Over the same period, too, the monthly active users of Uber are shown at around 38 million, while Ola India trails behind at 26 million, approximately.
In other words, Rapido already has more monthly active users than Uber India and Ola India combined! Which is a milestone.
Rapido is a platform in India, offering bicycle-taxis, cars, and cabs, revolutionizing the way India travels, as it says. It is currently present in over 150 cities and has completed over 100 million rides.
Reading the India Dispatch graph, this means that the user base of Rapido alone now exceeds the combined monthly users of Ola India and Uber India, prevailing in a striking moment as India’s ridesharing industry continuously evolves.
Changing market share
The market that once belonged to two companies has changed. Yes, it has changed. Today, the landscape looks more fragmented, more dynamic, and therefore, more exciting, RSF and ridesharing media stated.
Right now, the estimated market share has Rapido at 50 percent, Uber India at 40 percent, and Ola India at around 25 percent.
In terms of the actual numbers, Rapido is number one at 50 million users, followed by Uber with 30 million users in India, and Ola with 28 million users, all estimates.
Who leads in daily rides?
Another point of consideration that will drive home the point of Rapido leading the pack is the daily rides number.
Ola India trails behind at around a million rides daily, then Rapido at 1.6 million rides per day, and Uber India with two million rides per day. Notice the discrepancy?
It is interesting to note that despite Rapido leading the list of the app with the most number of users, Uber India still gets on top of the leaderboard when it comes to the number of rides made daily.
The labels have yet to release their official statements regarding these statistics. For more ridesharing news, food delivery updates, coupon countdowns, business insights, and so much more, stay with RSF, your trusted news source for ridesharing!
