Nashville, Tennessee - You’re In For A Treat! Lyft Is Coming To This City

The Nashville, Tennessee stereotypes are loud: it’s the Music City, it’s where people wear cowboy boots, and where the religious are.

In terms of the places to visit, there’s Vanderbilt University, the Grand Ole Opry House, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. It’d be hard to tour around if you still choose to use the traditional public transport system. Well, you could, but it’s not as convenient as ridesharing.

It’s official on the Waymo blog. Waymo has partnered with Lyft to bring fully autonomous rides to beautiful Nashville. Rawr.

“We’re on our way to Music City! We’re excited to bring the magic of Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hailing service to riders in Nashville, in partnership with Lyft,” stated the official press release.

The start of the operations of these fully autonomous vehicles is in the coming months. By next year, it will be launched to public riders.

Waymo and Lyft are going to make it possible by pairing their world-leading technology and seamless ridesharing service together with their track record, experience, and expertise.

Here’s what even more exciting. Nashville riders could hail through the Waymo app, and as the service continues to expand, riders could utilize the official Lyft app, too, in order to match with a Waymo vehicle. Convenience, all the way.

Waymo’s co-CEO, Tekedra Mawakana, expressed their delight in partnering with Lyft and launching in Nashville the following year, as they continue to scale their Waymo ridesharing service to more people in more places.

“Lyft’s extensive fleet management capabilities through Flexdrive make them an ideal partner for expanding to Nashville. We can’t wait to introduce Music City’s residents and visitors to the convenient, consistent, safe, and magical Waymo experience,” Mawakana further noted.

Nashville may not be as sophisticated as New York City, or as luxurious as Las Vegas, but it showcases its own magnificence in ways more than you could possibly imagine. In its own right, actually.

In Nashville, you could experience live country music on Honky Tonk Highway and at famous venues like the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium. Then, discover music history at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and enjoy a delicious treats from the original Goo Goo Cluster store. There’s also the Frist Art Museum and the Tennessee State Museum for art enthusiasts.

“This partnership brings together best-in-class autonomous vehicles with best-in-class customer experience,” Lyft’s chief executive officer, David Risher, told the Ridesharing Forum team. “Waymo has proven that its autonomous technology works at scale. When combined with Lyft’s customer-obsession and world-class fleet management capabilities, it’s two great tastes that go great together.”
