Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics Tourists Could Explore Dolomites Using Uber

For a month, Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics fans, tourists, and spectators who are interested in taking a side trip to a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the host locations may use Uber to reserve a snowmobile ride along the snow-draped road to the base of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo.

The Three Peaks of Lavaredo are three unique, battlement-like limestone pinnacles in the Sesto Dolomites of northeastern Italy. They are iconic, vertical-walled symbols of the Alps, which consist of Cima Grande, Cima Ovest, and Cima Piccola.

These dramatic and jagged limestone pinnacles stand only 23 kilometers from the venues of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, where the athletes are competing.

Giulia Baffeti, one of the Olympic torchbearers, told Ridesharing Forum how the Three Peaks are “a magical place,” and this opportunity is a way for more people to discover and experience it.

Hikers and climbers visit there in the warmer months. Now, it is wintertime, so it’s a prime spot for activities like snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding.

This experience reaches speeds up to 40 kilometers per hour when zooming past snow-covered trees. Drivers are told to slow down when coming upon the skiers and sledders. Safety is paramount as deer and wolves are, at times, seen along the seven-kilometer route up to the peaks’ base.

Also visible are the southernmost parts of the Laveredo peaks, rising majestically and sharply out of the fog. The Dolomites are breathtaking from Milano Cortina, with the sun shining and the views clear from town, very impressive.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics is an international multi-sport event that will last until February 22nd, happening across multiple sites in Lombardy and northeast Italy. This is the first Olympics that is hosted in two cities, Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, known as the snow queen in the Dolomites, offer an eclectic and ideal mix of urban culture and Alpine adventures. In Milan, you could, of course, explore the Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuel II, and the Brera district. In Cortina d’Ampezzo, you can enjoy skiing, hiking to the Cinque Torri, and shopping on Corso Italia.

So far, the countries that have won medals are Germany, Norway, Switzerland, and Japan.

Uber is one of the official sponsors of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
