Lyft Partners With Missouri Liquor Brand For Cinco De Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is all about drinking and partying in whichever city it is celebrated. When you turn sober, tipsy, or drunk, it’s going to be hard to make it home successfully. Unless you can contact your family member to fetch you. Fun times after a party session.

But don’t worry, Lyft is here to bring you home safely.

Lyft has partnered with a Missouri liquor brand, Safe Home After Every Occasion, to ensure that Cinco de Mayo revelers can get home safely and easily, as they can get a Lyft rideshare credit.

Revelers in Columbia, Springfield, St. Louis, and Kansas City can use the code BBGMOCINCO25 for up to $30 in free rides via Lyft from 10 a.m. Saturday through 1 a.m. Monday. The code activates at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Lyft organizes the rides in cooperation with Breakthru Beverage Missouri and its supplier partner, Proximo Spirits, which produces Centenario Tequila, Jose Cuervo, 1800 Tequila, Proper No. 12 Irish Whiskey, and Three Olives Vodka.

Breakthru Beverage Missouri is among the biggest statewide wholesale premium beverage alcohol distributors. It represents leading global and local brands and serves over 9,000 customers.

“We take pride in delivering our customers innovative solutions to help them build their businesses, and we are able to meet their unique needs because we have a best-in-class workforce of talented and nimble associates, we offer a diverse range of brands from the industry’s leading suppliers, and we consistently achieve operational excellence through strategic planning and our state-of-the-art facilities,” the brand said.

This is precisely what’s embedded in its partnership with Lyft for Cinco de Mayo.

Previously, the Ridesharing Forum site reported that Lyft also has free rides in Washington.

Held on May 5th, Cinco de Mayo is a celebration often heard among Mexican communities or Spanish colonies in Asia. This affair is a feast for endless booze, drinks, music, and partying.

It is often mistaken for Mexican Independence Day, when it is not. It is actually a Mexican and Mexican-American celebration commemorating the victory of the South American country over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862. Perfect celebration for tacos, booze, and so much more.

"We’re very fortunate to have generous partners like Proximo Spirits to help ensure Missourians can celebrate safely during popular occasions like Cinco de Mayo. Consumers look forward to this program throughout the year, and we’re proud to be part of their plan for a safe ride home,” stated Scott Johnson, the executive vice president of Breakthru Beverage Group.

Since founding the Safe Home After Every Occasion program, it has provided 150,000 Missourians with a free ride home. This is a program created by the beverage company.
