Love Is In The Air! Chinese Delivery Rider Marries His American Teacher Customer!

Let’s take a break from those awful stories about deliveries and ridesharing, where a passenger got hurt or whatnot. This time, this customer won’t ever get hurt anymore, as her delivery rider who brought her noodle order is his husband. True story. Take a look.

Viral and delightful

A Chinese food courier from Liaoning province was only doing his job, delivering noodles to his customer when the arrows of Cupid befell upon him. He got attracted to her, communicated with her even after the delivery, and married her – guess what? Only five months later!

True story. The 27-year-old delivery rider, Liu, knew the stars were aligning for them since their first meet-up was unconventional. It wasn’t the moment they met at the doorstep, with him handing her the order, but actually, inside the elevator. This itself is a sign.

The woman was Hannah Haris, a 30-year-old American nursery teacher from Alabama.

Him, being Asian, wanted to make a lasting first impression, so the moment they met, Liu told ridesharing media, “I do not speak much English, so I just said, ‘Hello, I love you’. She laughed when she heard it."

Post-meet chats, a soap opera love story

Delivery apps would usually automatically share the delivery guy’s number with you. So, loophole, loophole, you could always stay in touch with your delivery rider if you want. But, for Liu, it’s the other way around.

He sent her text messages – not the stuff like, “Did you get the items right?” or “Do you have comments on my service?” – but actually love notes.

Then, it went fun when the American teacher suggested they teach each other their language. As they got to know each other more, Liu shared images of his cats, and videos of himself cooking and rollerblading. See? Even delivery riders have their own amazing lives. They realized they share the same interests over pets, food, and sports, so they decided to give this relationship a go.

Eventually, Harris would join Liu on delivery runs. Imagine a woman riding a the back of the motorcycle, like a wife always there for her husband through thick and thin. They would also spend weekends in Shenyang.

It was in January when Liu proposed to Harris at an underground station with a diamond ring. Wow.

“Although we’ve known each other for a short time, I feel she’s the one,” he shared with Ridesharing Forum.

‘We are soulmates’

Two months later after the proposal, they wed in Liu’s hometown. Harris’ parents could not attend, so they just sent their heartfelt greetings from the USA.

Thinking of it, Liu would have a bright future with her, since he could anytime go with her in the United States. But, they didn’t look at the material things. Liu is a delivery rider, but that doesn’t matter with Harris. Love is love.

“We are soul mates,” stated Liu.

Today, they share a teddy dog named Pudding, cook each other’s national dishes, and enjoy cycling together. Liu wishes travel across China with Harris, while she dreams of becoming an author. Liu supports her writing passion. She dreams of publishing her own book one day.

"If you love someone, say it out loud,” Liu blurted out.
