It’s The Mile High 420 Festival In Colorado With Lyft!

It’s the Mile High 420 Festival in Colorado, and your favorite ridesharing apps are making sure everything will run smoothly on that day. First are Uber credits, and then, there’s Lyft’s guide to the festival. Here’s the story.

Colorado’s Mile High 420 Festival

It’s happening today, April 20th!

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be present at the Mile High 420 Festival in Denver, encouraging people to avoid driving while under the influence of drinks and teaching them to plan a safe ride home.

It’s kinda similar to what these ridesharing apps did during the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day this year and in the previous years, except that this is focused in Colorado.

The transportation department of Colorado is partnering with AAA Colorado for a $10 Uber ride credit for festival attendees. This credit can be used until April 21st through the promo code that the agency has provided.

The department will set up a booth on the west side of the park, where people can take a cannabis safety quiz to determine their proneness and risks of driving high.

The authorities are playing focus on this as impaired driving remains a serious issue in The Centennial State, where around one in three traffic deaths involves an impaired driver. Last 2024, it has been reported that 45 roadway deaths were involved with a driver suspected of being under the influence of cannabis while driving.

They are arguing that these substances can affect drivers in ways difficult to measure, making it unsafe to drive if someone feels very high. Therefore, officials are urging attendees to plan ahead.
