It’s Ramadan Season Again! Careem’s Doubling Tips For Captains In The United Arab Emirates!

How time flies fast! Could you even believe that it’s Ramadan season again? You joined the Ridesharing Forum team last year, featuring the fruitful Ramadan 2025, and this time, for Ramadan 2026, the team wants to thank you again.

Over in the Middle East, generosity is bound to go beyond your imagination and wildest dreams, and don’t worry, because Ramadan is also about giving.

Though Ramadan is widely known for fasting from dawn to sunset, the main idea behind this celebration, it is also a month of immense generosity, charity, and kindness, a period where Muslims and Islam believers focus on spiritual growth, empathy for the less fortunate, and increased charitable giving. After all, the Islamic god himself was never selfish to the followers of the faith.

This Holy Month, Middle Eastern super-app Careem with budget-friendly eHailing taxi service in Dubai, Hala, to introduce a limited-time Tip Matching feature, designed to double the tips of customers for Captains across the United Arab Emirates. Captains are Careem’s drivers. And, guess what? This won’t charge you anything at all.

This special offer is running from February 18th to March 19th. Careem matches each tip of around $3 or more made after a ride, delivery, or a Hala taxi trip booked through the app. In other words, if you tip $3, your Captain receives, that’s right, around $6. If you tip $10, your captain gets $20! The Ramadan feast at its finest.

Plus, even more importantly, 100 percent of all tips, including the matched amount, goes to the Captain directly, transferred to their Careem Pay account, which makes it easier for them to move the funds straight to their bank.

“Captains are the heartbeat of Careem. They serve our communities with relentless dedication, often while fasting during Ramadan. This year, we are doubling the impact of our customers’ kindness: 100% of every tip goes directly to our Captains, and Careem will match it dirham-for-dirham. Rooted in our value of being ‘Generous,’ this initiative is a tangible way to honor the spirit of the Holy Month and improve the lives of our captains,” Mudassir Sheikha, the CEO and co-founder of Careem, told Ridesharing Forum further.

Thus, this initiative is designed to boost the earnings of Captains who may take a break or fast during the Ramadan season. Careem celebrates the giving side of Ramadan 2026, too.

To qualify for this perk, simply update and launch your official Careem app, book a ride, or place an order via Careem Food, Quick, Shops, or Box, and start giving away those tips.

In addition, aside from Tip Matching, Hala and Careem will also be distributing daily Iftar meals to Captains across the Middle Eastern country, ensuring they practice their faith even when busy on the road. The same thing they did last year.

These Captains need you, and while you can opt out, know that generosity always goes a long way. For more ridesharing and food delivery news, keep browsing this Ridesharing Forum site.
