Fuel prices today are like destinations you never wish to visit again. Call it trauma. While according to the United States Energy Information Administration, fuel prices are fluctuating, Trading Economics data reveal that gasoline prices rose today from the previous day.
This issue is serious. There are lots of ridesharing drivers who couldn’t help but bang their fist on the steering wheel since they almost don’t earn profits as the revenue only goes to fuel.
Well, Amazon Flex is here to mend this problem. A recent report on the platform’s official newsroom stated that Flex partners could get the chance to save more on fuel until October 31st.
“Amazon Flex delivery partners can enjoy increased fuel savings throughout October 2025 at participating Shell stations nationwide. Through Amazon Flex Rewards and the Fuel Rewards® program, you will receive an additional five cents off per gallon from October 1 to October 31,” Amazon Flex’s newsroom stated.
Who are Amazon Flex delivery partners? These drivers are considered independent contractors who use their own cars to deliver Amazon packages. They schedule delivery blocks via the Amazon Flex app, pick up parcels from delivery stations or stores, and drop them off at customers. They earn based on the number of completed deliveries, offering flexibility and a supplemental income.
However, there are rules, terms, and conditions that apply, from reaching a particular reward level to the amount of discounts allowable for you.
Amazon Flex’s newsroom added, “Your total fuel savings this October will depend on your current Amazon Flex Rewards level. Delivery partners at Rewards Levels 1 and 2 can save 10 cents per gallon, while those at Level 3 will receive 11 cents off per gallon. Delivery partners who have achieved Rewards Level 4 status can maximize their savings with 12 cents off per gallon. These discounts are available for up to 15 fill-ups during October at participating Shell locations.”
If you’re worrying about reaching those statuses to qualify for the biggest rewards, don’t. To get started with those fuel savings is quite simple.
On your Amazon Flex app, proceed to the Dashboard, and choose Rewards Details. Tap the Fuel Rewards logo to make or create your personal 10-digit “Alt ID” that you will use when filling up at Shell stations to receive your discount. Yes, Shell is a major and official partner in here.
Remember, though, that restrictions apply. There are drivers who might be disqualified for the offer even if they followed the instructions.
Some experts are seeing loopholes, such as the frequency of cheaper gasoline prices today compared to previous days, and they are saying that Amazon Flex is only taking advantage of this to make it appear that drivers would benefit so much. This offer runs until the end of month.
