The Postmates food delivery app has a brand-new collaboration that you will certainly love.
It has recently teamed up with the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon, which is produced by The McCourt Foundation.
Curious about what is ASICS Los Angeles Marathon? Well, this is officially the biggest and longest-running community sporting event in the city. This March 8th, this race is slated to welcome more than 26,000 runners who will start at Dodger Stadium and finish the around 26-mile Stadium-to-the-Stars Course near the Avenue of the Stars in Century City.
Plus, there will also be Marathon Weekend events, such as the LA 5K next Saturday and the marathon’s two-day Lifestyle Expo to be held at Dodger Stadium on March 6th and 7th. There will also be a free expo open to the public, featuring up to a hundred exhibitors, aiming to attract over 70,000 attendees.
The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon is the concluding event in the three-race Conquer LA Challenge, which begins with the Santa Monica Classic in September, followed by the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K in January.
All those are managed by The McCourt Foundation, a foundation that empowers communities to build a healthier world through research, education, and events. It has a mission to put an end and cure neurological diseases while empowering communities to build and live a healthier world.
The McCourt Foundation also donates to neurology research, hosting educational forums, and using events such as ASICS Los Angeles Marathon – which Postmates is partnered – Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K, Santa Monica Classic, and Boston Waterfront 5K.
Under this team-up, Postmates is named by the organization as its Official Food Delivery Service Partner. Therefore, Postmates will deliver items to runners on course. There will be “Delivery Runners” who will be running alongside the attendees at Mile 23 with items such as donut holes, pickle brine, and iced espresso shots, giving runners the energy they need to reach the finish line.
“Postmates has always been about delivering the best of Los Angeles to Angelenos across the city,” stated Jasmin Booker, the brand marketing lead at Postmates. “We are excited to deliver a burst of fuel to the runners at Mile 23 and celebrate with cheering spectators at the finish line. We’re proud to fuel the athletes and further support the local restaurants that keep LA running.”
That’s not it. In order to fuel runners and their marathon training, Postmates also has a secondary partnership for these events, particularly that with Strava, offering discounted post-training meals from nearby businesses for those running on three of the city’s most popular training routes. That is, the Santa Monica Promenade, Silver Lake Reservoir, and Rose Bowl Loop.
This collaboration is more than just providing fuel and energy for the athletes and audiences, but also to celebrate and promote the culinary culture in Los Angeles. Postmates will also be having a free food truck near the finish line, featuring dishes from a renowned Los Angeles restaurant. How exciting.
“The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon is a celebration of this city’s grit and community,” Karen O’Connell, Head of Sponsorship for the McCourt Foundation and ASICS Los Angeles Marathon, told the Ridesharing Forum team. “Postmates is the perfect partner to help us showcase the local flavor that makes LA unique, while providing a literal and figurative boost to our runners when they need it most.”
Postmates is an app that gives customers access to a wide array of merchants in the USA, with over half a million restaurants and retailers within the app available for pick-up and delivery. Keep browsing this Ridesharing Forum site for more delivery news and insights.
