Instacart Obtains Instaleap - The Goal? To Accelerate Its Enterprise System’s Global Expansion

This recent acquisition supports the strategy of Instacart to expand its enterprise offerings internationally and create the technologies necessary to enable every grocery payment.

This partnership, therefore, is hinged upon the enterprise unit of the two companies. With Instacart’s broad portfolio of enterprise offerings, with grocery and marketplace brands, such as Lululemon, Cencosud, Continente, Jerónimo Martins, and SPAR under its belt.

These will work together with Instaleap and its operations in almost 30 countries in Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Ryan Hamburger, the chief commerce officer of Instacart, chatted with Ridesharing Forum, saying, “We see a meaningful opportunity to expand internationally through an enterprise-led strategy that empowers retailers across the globe to meet the evolving omnichannel needs of their customers. We’ve already seen growing global demand for our online and in-store technologies, including Storefront Pro and Caper Carts, with early traction in Europe and Australia. With the addition of Instaleap’s technology, international expertise, and deep retail relationships, we can accelerate our international expansion and better serve retailers and consumers around the world.”

The status: Instaleap is Instacart’s official wholly-owned subsidiary. Instacart’s divisions that are part of the acquisition, enabling Instaleap’s operations in the business, include:

  • Storefront Pro, or the enterprise-grade commerce platform of Instacart
  • Carrot Ads, Instacart’s retail media technology
  • Caper Carts, Instacart’s AI-powered smart carts
  • FoodStorm, Instacart’s end-to-end order management technology for grocery perimeter departments
