Here’s How Uber One Is Bringing A Week-Long Endless Happiness To The Lives Of The Brits

Uber holds a special place in the hearts of the Brits. Uber has been providing people across the country access to safe, reliable, and affordable transportation. According to this piece on the official Uber Great Britain newsroom, Uber has been providing jobs for over 100,000 drivers on the platform.

In addition, this impact has made Uber unlock an estimated over $6 billion in economic value for the country last year, which will increase to around $4 billion in 2019.

Furthermore, it has also been said that more than a quarter of British adults traveled with Uber in the previous months, and since the platform launched in the country, over a billion trips have already been made.

Uber has many gimmicks to keep passengers engaged, such as Uber One. Uber One is a paid membership service offering discounts and perks on Uber rides and Uber Eats orders. It offers a way to save money on cars and food delivery via a recurring subscription. For just a fixed fee monthly and yearly, Uber One members gain access to massive discounts on rides, delivery fees, and exclusive perks like promos and experiences.

Uber One launches several campaigns to benefit its users. One is Uber One Member Days, a week-long campaign that seeks to bring happiness and joy to Brits. The main feature of the real-world campaign, not virtual, is a shopping bag-shaped golden booth called “The Really Good Mood Machine” positioned in Central London.

From May 16th, Uber One members had the chance to unlock a series of uber-exclusive perks, such as Uber investing around $6 million in “feel-good rewards.” These include free McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets and up to a year’s worth of Disney+ subscription. There’s also an Avios giveaway and a one-month ClassPass trial. Free McDonald’s food? You wouldn’t say no to that.

Creative agency Mother has been tapped to implement the campaign. Mother’s clients include GM, IKEA, and KFC. The agency did some research responding to Uber’s, which reveals that over half of adults in the United Kingdom rarely have their good week and nearly a third of them hate Mondays.

Thus, to address this serious problem, The Really Good Mood Machine was launched, offering fun, feel-good scenarios, such as pop-up discos, puppy parties, and rewarding passersby with Uber credit to keep the good vibes rolling.

And, the campaign is more than just this pop-up, but Uber is also distributing “golden” Uber One envelopes across several areas in the United Kingdom, rewarding individuals for simply breathing, blinking, and just existing. It sounds weird, but that’s how it is.

This part of the campaign is spearheaded by social media personality Troy Hawke, celebrating Brits to simply being human, as he hands out Uber credit and free Uber One trials.

“Uber One Member Days is about more than just deals; it’s about bringing a little more joy and everyday value to the lives of our members,” stated Uber’s global membership head, Danielle Sheridan.
