To cap off this work week and to welcome the weekend on Ridesharing Forum, here are three amazing stories on DoorDash. First, find out how this DashPass member saved hundreds of dollars of food deliveries in just a year.
Second, more DoorDash drones are taking it to the skies in the USA. Third, there’s a new DoorDash partnership with pickleball that you don’t want to miss.
Saving via DashPass
To give you some context, DashPass is the subscription program of DoorDash which is offering benefits like $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders from participating restaurants, grocery stores, and other retailers. It also includes priority customer support and exclusive promotions.
A DashPass customer has shared her story on popular publication Pop Sugar, regarding how she was able to literally save hundreds of dollars this year alone, thanks to her membership.
She’s Marisa Petrarca, who, this week, shared how her complimentary DashPass membership came to the rescue.
“Everyone has that one food delivery app they default to, and for me, it’s DoorDash. As a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder (the lounges alone are reason enough to apply, IMO), I get a complimentary DoorDash DashPass Membership ($10/month or $96/year) included with my annual fee. If you’re not familiar, DashPass is DoorDash’s subscription service that waives delivery fees and reduces service fees on eligible orders – which is exactly why I’ve been exclusively ordering through the app lately. (Those fees really add up.),” she explained.
But, at the very least, the Chase perk she was getting, she was able to save more.
“My commitment to food delivery tends to come in waves, and right now, it’s at an all-time high. I recently moved into a new house with my husband and had a baby, a combo that has me opening the app for dinner more often than I’d like to admit. But honestly, I can justify it…” Petrarca continued. “… And even though we ordered a lot of rolls, the price felt totally fair…”
If her story inspired you, then it’s time to go sign up for a DashPass membership now.
More DoorDash drones
Meanwhile, in other DoorDash news, more drones from the food delivery app are taking it to the skies in the United States.
This is done in partnership with GoTo Foods and Wings, a drone operator. The drones are now live in three key Texas cities.
Headquartered in Georgia, GoTo Foods currently manages the Schlotzsky’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Moe’s Southwest Grill, McAlister’s Deli, Auntie Anne’s, and Jamba brands.
New partnership with pickleball
Now, for the last story about DoorDash, the platform has recently partnered with Ace Pickleball Club to be the official on-demand delivery and pickup platform of this indoor pickleball club.
It isn’t as big as the Super Bowl, but with this partnership, it will be easier for club members and guests to order and receive their cravings as the event happens.
“This partnership brings together two brands committed to community and convenience, and we’re proud to support pickleball players and fans of the sport — both on and off the court,” said DoorDash’s Airel Gambardella, its brand partnerships lead. “From pre-match fuel and weekly groceries to recovery items and gear, we look forward to helping Ace Pickleball Club members spend less time managing logistics and more time playing the sport they love.”
Pickleball is a paddle sport that merges together the rules of tennis, table tennis, and badminton.
