If you think driving for Lyft for several hours on the road seems like a dead end, that there’s no way you could save enough money for your future, you might want to apply in the data science, software engineering, business intelligence, data evaluations, and product departments of the ridesharing app, unless, of course, you’ve got the skills. The amount of the salaries they receive, according to reports, will shock you!
Lyft is likely to be the second-largest ride-hailing app after Uber. Its economic performance statistics are staggering. First, the car network of Lyft is now pegged at almost 10 million, all due to rideshare, the official impact report of Lyft stated.
The drivers here are also liking the job satisfaction. The impact report added that they are more likely to stop driving for Lyft if they get the same level and type of job treatment in their company, since some are doing this for the part-time.
“Drivers are busy people. They need independence and flexible schedules to earn around their other commitments. The Lyft platform provides them with that ability,” Lyft wrote. “The Lyft platform improves access to transportation for riders of all incomes and identities - especially those who have been historically underserved.”
Furthermore, lower-income riders are almost twice more likely than higher-income riders to use Lyft to reach work. So, considering the percentage of the former compared to the latter, you get the picture of Lyft’s revenue.
A recent report on ridesharing media estimated the earnings of Lyft’s internal workers in those departments. The highest amount is $300,000.

- Data science managers: $176,000 to $300,000

Meanwhile, in other Lyft news, a small-time alternative and indie artist, Constant Smiles, has featured Lyft in one of its singles.
In their single, “Allowed to Be,” the song follows the laidback charm of the previous song “Time Measured in Moonflowers,” with lyrics expressing a certain heartfelt dedication involving various difficult commutes.
The video for the song sees the artist in their career as a Lyft driver, who slowly slips away as dissatisfied customers bail from their rides. It’s seen in the real world, and the artists who portrayed as the customers were artist and activist Ann Messner, experimental artist LEYA, Bambara’s Blaze Bateh, and musicians and songwriters Shahzad Ismailey, Katie von Schelicher, Leslie Bear, and Mallory Hawk, as well as pro skater and artist Bobby Puleo.
