So, Uber and Uber Eats launched the Uber Eats: Cart Assistant, designed to turn grocery shopping into a breeze.
“AI tools are everywhere. At Uber, we’re focused on building AI features that genuinely make everyday tasks easier for our users. That’s the thinking behind our newest addition to Uber Eats: Cart Assistant,” Uber noted on its official press release.
Recently, Uber launched the Cart Assistant on the Uber Eats app. It is a brand-new AI-powered features designed to help you build grocery baskets quicker and with less effort. That means fewer taps, more time saved, and less hassles.
Despite the convenience of online grocery shopping, some still find things devastating, as they are looking for quicker ways to shop.
“Users were telling us that they wanted a quicker way to shop, and we know how precious your time is. Cart Assistant helps you get from idea to checkout in seconds,” Uber continued.
Here’s how it works. First, you look for the grocery store of your choice on the Uber Eats homescreen. Then, tap the purple Cart Assistant icon on the storefront to start your shopping.
Then, type your list and add an image, so the Cart Assistant can add the things needed to your basket. An image of a handwritten shopping list or a screenshot of recipe ingredients works just as well. Like feeding ChatGPT with an image to interpret!
Uber Eats’ Cart Assistant will then automatically take availability into account, then show store-level details, such as item prices and applicable promotions.
You may edit the basket however you wish, such as swapping out selections or adding additional items from the store.
“This is the beta version of Cart Assistant, and an early step in how we’re solving practical problems with agentic AI on Uber Eats, focused on areas where we can make the biggest difference,” Uber clarified.
Cart Assistant likewise builds upon your past orders to show you the items you usually buy, making the experience faster and more personalized.
