‘Tis the season of free ridesharing rides again. And on Lyft, free rides are available all over the country. Here are the details.
St. Louis
Over in St. Louis, Missouri, authorities are helping combat drunk driving during the New Year 2026 celebrations by providing free Lyft rides.
Free Lyft rides are offering you no choice but to go for this transport option, so you could get home safely.
Otherwise, authorities are recommending that you use safe public transport options like the MetroLink or the MetroBus, or have a designated sober driver or sober friend to pick you up.
These promos are being implemented in cooperation with Breakthru Missouri and Jameson Whiskey, together with Lyft. Five hundred free rides await via the Safe Home After Every Occasion program.
From 2 p.m. local time on Wednesday, December 31st, until 2 a.m. local time on January 1st, you can redeem the code BBGMONYE25 to grab your free ride home via Lyft. The value of the rides is $30. You may claim these starting 9 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday.
Portland
In Portland, Oregon, the Portland Bureau of Transportation is offering discounted Lyft rides for New Year’s Eve celebrants, also in advocacy of safe travels and safe road trips.
Coupons of $10 off will be available for download on the Safe Ride Home New Year’s Eve – Welcome to 2026 website starting December 31st. The promo is valid until supplies last.
The institution-in-charge, the Portland Bureau of Transportation, spearheads the Safe Ride Home Program to curb impaired driving, avoiding deadly crashes that have crippled Portland years ago.
Safe Ride Home Program started in 2017, providing cheap and safe travel options for people celebrating New Year’s Eve, St. Patrick’s Day, and Cinco de Mayo, among others. Last year, the program helped over 2,000 New Year partygoers.
Washington
The same goes in Washington. The Washington Regional Alcohol Program is also offering free rides home with Lyft.
Authorities in Washington are recommending that you avail of this opportunity and program. They told Ridesharing Forum, “All people have to do is download the Lyft app, if they have not already done that, to their phone. And then in the app’s payment section, simply download the code and put it in there.”
The discount code is for $15 off, valid until 4 a.m. New Year’s Day. If your ride costs more than that, you’d have to pay the balance, though.
“Last December, we had over 2,200 people do the right thing in the D.C. area and utilize this local and lifesaving program, rather than driving home impaired,” Washington’s authorities further added.
Melbourne
There are also free Lyft rides in Melbourne, Florida city, care of lawyer Andrew Pickett. He is giving away $10,000 worth of Lyft vouchers to help residents in the area get home safely during the New Year.
