You know of people hailing Lyft rides, but what about pets wanting to experience a Lyft ride? You know of the Super Bowl, but have you heard of the Puppy Bowl? Pet owners and pet lovers, be prepared for a paw-some February! Read on for the scoop.

Lyft x Animal Planet

One of the world’s biggest ridesharing platforms, Lyft, announced its newest partnership on Monday, this time with animal-centric and animal-themed cable network Animal Planet. The partnership will allow Lyft to offer discounted rides for pets and encourage worthwhile pet adoption.

This partnership has launched “Pet Rides,” a program that allows you to match with drivers who are also pet lovers like you. Lyft is more than “ready to welcome furry friends into their cars.”

Each ride only costs around $4 – tax excluded – ensuring you and your pets feel comfortable during the ride. It doesn’t matter whether you have puppies or kittens. The money goes entirely to the driver. Plus, you’ll also be able to distinguish participating vehicles in this program with car wall designs inspired by pets.

In its official statement, Lyft stated that beginning February 2nd to February 9th, throughout the Super Bowl and Puppy Bowl seasons, the ridesharing platform is offering as much as 50 percent off two Pet Rides of up to $20 for each ride when you use the coupon code “PUPPYBOWL.”

You may also use these rides to reach and leave animal shelters with your adopted pets, when needed.

Not only that but if you are in New Orleans during the sports event’s official season, pet riders will also get the chance to be surprised by a Pupmobile upon their pickup. Cars under the Pupmobile feature have Puppy Bowl-themed swag like dog bandanas and toys so your pets won’t ever get bored during the ride.

The 21st Puppy Bowl

Because of this partnership, the Puppy Bowl event has gained so much traction. Don’t feel bothered if this is the first time you heard about it. Others, too.

Warner Bros. describes the Puppy Bowl as the “cutest competition of the year.” This 2025, it is holding its 21st edition, featuring 142 rescue puppies from 80 shelters across, get this, 40 states and two countries worldwide!

This yearly pet-centric event, which is also the “longest-running call-to-adoption TV event,” spans three hours.

Inspired by the Super Bowl, the Puppy Bowl highlights the inspiring journeys and adventures of those pets from birth to adoption, as well as the immense dedication of their rescuers and shelters that provide these animals their new caring homes.

The Super Bowl LIX is happening this February 9th at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, y’all.

The Puppy Bowl 2025 will air on February 9th as well starting at 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Animal Planet, Discovery, Discover+, TBS, truTV, and Max.
