Previously, the Ridesharing Forum team reported that Grubhub re-acquired Seamless, the New York-based food delivery platform. Seamless has been with Grubhub since 2013, but Grubhub took a break from them for a while and now they’re back. Celebrate!
They’re back for more surprises, such as the beloved iconic $1 cheese slice that can satisfy the hunger pangs of several customers, regardless of their economic status.
From April 22nd to May 20th, New Yorkers can score the $1 cheese slice for pick-up by ordering via New York’s homegrown food delivery service.
For generations, not just a few years, the $1 slice has been helping individuals to have a decent meal without having to pay too much. The cheese slice has been a thrifty indulgence, a savior when you need to only get cheap food during lunch, and a late-night snacking tradition. Whether you need to enjoy the slice on a subway platform or standing curbside, the $1 cheese slice was always there – hot, fast, and satisfying. Easy to consume.
“I’ve watched this city change over the years, but nothing beats that look on someone’s face when they fold a hot $1 cheese slice and take that first bite, it never changes,” stated 2 Bros. Pizza, the company that has been serving the cheese slice for two decades now. “Teaming up with Seamless gives us a chance to celebrate the $1 cheese slice tradition with our loyal customers—and introduce a whole new generation to what makes New York pizza so special.”
To grab your slice of the pie, you must access SeamlessDollarSlice.com, where you will find the participating restaurants. There are over 40 participating pizzerias across five boroughs, such as the favorites: Luigi’s Pizza, Rocco Pizza, 2 Bros. Pizza, Marinara Pizza, Krave Pizza, La Bellezza, Best Pizza, Ledo Pizza, Beverly Pizza & Cafe, Da Bianca Pizza, Rizzo’s Pizza, Patrizia’s Taverna, and so much more.
Then, choose the location to pick up your order via Seamless. But, remember, that orders are limited to just one per day until May 20th, and there should only be up to five $1 slices per order.
“The $1 cheese slice is more than just pizza—it’s part of the city’s DNA,” shared Howard Migdal, the chief executive officer of Grubhub, the owner of Seamless.
He added that, being a company founded in New York City, the $1 cheese slice means a lot to its customers. It’s “about culture, convenience, and that [genuine] New York City flavor.”
“Simply put, it’s how New York eats. We’re proud to bring it back and celebrate the food culture that makes this city unlike anywhere else,” the CEO went on.
