Grubhub’s Parent Company, Wonder Launching In Texas This 2027 - Over 100 Locations!

Everybody, relax. It’s still too early to plot 2027, but the Grubhub food delivery app has subtly expressed its surprises for that year.

Ridesharing media are abuzz with Grubhub’s parent company, Wonder, and its plans to expand beyond its Northeast roots.

According to San Antonio Express-News, Grubhub is hearing the clamor of consumers, announcing it will open for business in Texas that year, marking its newest next stage of growth as a multi-operator in the region.

This planned expansion is Wonder’s first-ever move beyond the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Specifically, these are the places in southern USA that it is opening in:

  • Dallas-Fort Worth
  • Houston
  • Austin
  • San Antonio

Believe it or not, these metropolitan areas are not yet in the scope of Wonder. The specific blueprint is also set, with the Dallas-Fort Worth serving as Wonder’s initial entry point in Texas. The company is making investments in storefront construction, kitchen buildouts, technology infrastructure, and professional services, in preparation for its openings.

That will sum up to over 100 locations by the end of 2027.

The workforce is also happy, as more jobs will be created.

“We’re excited to enter Texas and introduce more people to what makes Wonder unique – chef-crafted menus, unmatched variety, and seamless convenience,” Tony Hoggett, the CEO of Wonder North America, conversed with Ridesharing Forum. “Texas’ dynamic food culture, population growth, and suburban footprint align closely with our delivery-first model. This expansion builds on the systems, infrastructure, and experience that have powered our growth in the Northeast and furthers our ability to invest in local communities to support long-term success.”

This is also a milestone and momentum, right after it debuted in Massachusetts with the big launch of its three brand-new locations in the communities of Belmont, Natick, and Framingham there. Throughout the rest of the year, there will be six more locations and additional expansions in the Greater Boston area.

Wonder follows a multi-restaurant model that lets customers select from over 20 various restaurant concepts, “with every dish made to order in a Wonder storefront and delivered fast and free.”

More plans include aggressive investments into research and development, focusing on key areas, such as faster cooking times, software enhancements, brand-new menu items, brand-new chefs, and newest restaurant collaborations.

Wonder will also keep on investing in proprietary technology and innovations to drive efficiencies, which would include back-end technology focused on driving down food waste, next-gen kitchen designs to enhance throughput and consistency, and improved delivery networks.

Currently, Wonder does business in over 100 locations across the following states:

  • Rhode Island
  • Maryland
  • Connecticut
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • New Jersey
  • Delaware
  • Virginia
  • District of Columbia
  • Massachusetts

By the end of ths year, it is aiming to surpass over 200 storefronts. There’s no way to go but up for Wonder and Grubhub. Sign up for that account on the Ridesharing Forum site now!
