Meanwhile, in other Amazon news, the biggest eCommerce platform in the globe, has revealed it is investing a whopping $4 billion in rural areas across the United States to further expand its delivery network, offer even faster deliveries, and contribute to the economy by creating more than 100,000 new jobs.
The company believes that investing in creating more jobs locally or in rural areas in the United States can provide customers in those areas with even speedier delivery across a wide array of products.
“Today, I’m excited to share that we’re investing over $4 billion to expand our rural delivery network, with a focus on small towns across the United States, to bring even faster delivery to our many millions of customers in less densely populated areas,” Udit Madan, the senior vice president of the company’s operations worldwide, revealed. “At a time [when] many logistics providers are backing away from serving rural customers because of [the cost] to serve, we are stepping up our investment to make their lives easier and better.”
Growing the rural delivery network. Correct. So this investment will expand the network’s footprint to even 200 more delivery stations, creating around over 100,000 new jobs and driving opportunities across a wide range of full-time, part-time, and flexible positions in buildings and on the roads.
Once the expansion is complete, the network will be able to deliver over a staggering billion packages every year to customers living in more than 13,000 zip codes spanning several miles, covering the vicinities of California, Alaska, and Texas combined.
