Freshmen At University Of Tennessee, Knoxville Can Tour Around Town Via Uber

A university life that’s just filled with study, study, and study is boring. There’s a brand-new program designed by Uber in collaboration with the University of Tennessee at Knoxville that will let freshmen students tour around town in an Uber car. Read on for the scoop.

Uber confirmed it is shuttling more freshmen from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville around town as part of this partnership.

Aside from letting kids enjoy more, this program is a significant stride and major step towards the goal of the school administrators to shift from being a car-centric campus to showing these students they can freely leave their car back home, as there are Ubers waiting for them.

However, there are terms and conditions that apply, such as:

  • Registration will be open for up to 2,000 eligible students who will receive 10 pieces of $10 ride vouchers for the springtime semester.
  • These eligible students should be enrolled as a first-year undergraduate, live in a dorm in-campus, and must have have a parking permit.
  • Students may use the vouchers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, provided that the rides begin in Knox County, or are to and from McGhee Tyson Airport.
  • All charges of over $10, as well as driver tips, should be paid by the freshmen students
  • Lastly, just one voucher could be redeemed for each trip. The voucher will expire at the end of the semester.
