Amazon Flex is committed to promoting safety for their drives on the road by providing them safety gear for free. These include reflective safety vests, vehicle magnets, and headlamps.
“Your safety as a delivery partner is a top priority at Amazon Flex. In support of this, we provide free safety gear for you to use while on the road and during deliveries,” Amazon Flex stated. “This safety gear is optional for you to use and available at select delivery stations in limited quantities. We are continually expanding to additional locations and making more and new types of gear available.”
First are the reflective safety vests. Amazon-branded, these vests can be picked up from delivery stations without asking you to pay. The company has designed these vests with the use of reflective technology so other vehicles and motorists, as well as customers, can easily spot you while either at the delivery station or on the road.
Amazon Flex strongly recommends that you wear them as your outermost layer all the time whilst you are doing your Amazon Flex deliveries.
Second are vehicle magnets, similar to what you see with “baby on board” signs. Also free of charge, these magnets are designed to keep Amazon Flex drivers safer while on the road by letting others know that you and your car are doing deliveries, especially since delivery cars often make frequent spots.
However, while having these magnets, be responsible by not blocking working parts of your vehicle, such as sensors, door handles, and license plates.
Last are headlamps. While can be distracting, you don’t want to compromise your safety.
