Famous Pancake Restaurant IHOP Represents A Massive Number Of Businesses Frustrating Diners On DoorDash

Recent talks and discussions on Reddit about how IHOP orders on DoorDash are unbelievably delayed are representative of several other restaurants that frustrate diners.

Apparently, it isn’t only during holidays like Holy Week, as previously reported here on Ridesharing Forum, when these delays happen, but perhaps several times.

IHOP is placing itself as sacrifice to represent these failing restaurants.

Over on Reddit, as echoed by Tasting Table, Dashers, or DoorDash drivers – who are mostly blamed for the delays – are growing frustrated with IHOP.

Comments from these drivers include “I have waited 25 minutes for an order on a slow day,” “IHOP is always a nightmare for delivery drivers, they literally DGAFabout us,” and “Made an order from IHOP over an hour ago now. I’ve had three different Dashers cancel because they’ve been waiting too long. This is insane.”

Note that these complaints are not representative of the quality of food and service in IHOP, because the experience has always been great.

Known worldwide, IHOP is a USA-based casual dining restaurant chain famous for its signature pancakes, omelets, and all-day breakfast. Delicious, isn’t it? Making life more delicious.

It is also being talked about that the long wait times at IHOP vary by day, specifically during the weekends and holidays. So the Holy-Week-theory is right.

Drivers are also complaining about the unprofessionalism of the IHOP staff, causing further delays, plus issues.

Then, it’s a domino effect.

Dashers or DoorDash drivers are never anymore accepting orders and delivery tasks from IHOP, but then, this will anger avid fans of the restaurant, since the food has always been great.

But, somehow, these Dashers may also have the right to reject orders, since they may earn right, but if their time is wasted, they’d rather choose restaurants that are faster and smoother in operations. In other words, these frustrating wait times lessen the payments of the Dashers, and the businesses in totality.

So, multiple points in here. First, the talked-about issue with processing orders at IHOP, then the drivers never really wanting to cancel or reject orders, had DoorDash’s payment structure gets it right. Then, it’s another domino effect, too.

DoorDash is an on-demand food and retail delivery app that connects consumers with their favorite restaurants and stores. Customers place orders through the app, and independent contractors – known as “Dashers” – pick up the items and deliver them straight to the customer’s doorsteps.

Thank you, IHOP, for starting this conversation. It’s an eye-opener.
