Families In Courtenay, Comox – Rejoice! This Ridesharing Company Is Making Your Rides Way Safer

Uber, meet Uride.

While ridesharing trips are almost always safe, if not completely always, this ridesharing service operating in British Columbia is adding a new option to make rides more accessible and safer for families.

Uride, which has been operating in that area for around a year now, recently introduced a booster seat option, which is now available on rides in all communities in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, and New Brunswick.

“This new option allows riders to select a booster seat when booking a trip, ensuring safer and more comfortable transportation for children and peace of mind for parents,” Uride told Ridesharing Forum. “The initiative further supports Uride’s commitment to accessible, family-friendly travel solutions tailored to the needs of local communities.”

Aside from safer rides, there is also a pet-friendly ride feature that makes it possible not only for human passengers but also for your furry kids to ride safely and comfortably. Though, it’s not with Uber or Lyft, sadly, but with Uride.

“We know that for families, getting around with children can be challenging. The booster seat feature is about providing safer, stress-free travel for families with small children. We are looking to fill the gap for this much needed feature in ridesharing services,” stated the CEO of Uride.

Uride works just like Uber or Lyft. Open the platform, enter your destination, select the type of vehicle you like, then request the ride after confirmation.

“This rollout reinforces Uride’s dedication to building a transportation service that truly supports the day-to-day needs of families in the communities we serve,” Uride further noted. “Whether it’s a school run, a weekend visit to grandma’s, or a quick trip across town, Uride is committed to making every ride safer and more accessible, for every member of the family.”

These are where Uride is available:

  • Ontario: Belleville, Chatham-Kent, North Bay, Peterborough, Prince Edward County, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and Timmins
  • British Columbia: Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Penticton, Prince George, Vernon, Comox, and Courtenay
  • Alberta: Grande Prairie, Medicine Hat, and Red Deer
  • New Brunswick: Fredericton, Moncton, and Saint John

“We’re connecting communities across Canada through our ridesharing app,” Uride shared on its official website. “… The Uride app gives you safe, reliable, and affordable rides. With the lowest fares and quickest pickup times in your city.”
