There’s a new food delivery app in town, and it’s The Yango Group. This brand-new app, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, is likewise present in over 30 nations in Europe, the African continent, South Asia, in Latin America, and some other parts of the Middle East.
In actuality, this platform is a tech ecosystem, offering ride-hailing, public transport data, delivery, online groceries, maps, entertainment services, its own AI voice assistant, and so much more.
It would seem it has the world in its collection, right? Well, this week, it has started introducing autonomous robot food delivery services in Expo City Dubai, listed on sites like Time Out as among the top places to visit in this magnificent capital city.
But the new division of this food delivery platform has a lot more work to do, such as enhancing the convenience of Expo City’s workers, residents, and guests while advancing the goal of the Middle Eastern city to become a smart city the world has yet to know.
It reportedly has features that blend its offers into innovative city environments, these autonomous robots will invite over distributors of meals from select cafés and restaurants to the primary office of Expo City, situated in Al Wasl Plaza, during a four-month pilot testing program.
These autonomous robots work by planning their routes independently, moving around obstacles, and even giving way to pedestrians while navigating across urban areas with precision using artificial intelligence.
To elaborate, these autonomous robots are set to use navigation powered by artificial intelligence to operate independently, avoid obstacles, and yield to pedestrians.
These auto-robots will be electric, free of carbon releases, and administered with high-definition maps, plus sensors allowing them to work in low-light and poor weather conditions.
Note that these autonomous robots are not yet in full operation. Once they are successful, they will expand across the Middle Eastern destination’s wide network of restaurants and partners. This pilot program belongs to a much broader push by Expo City Dubai to scale human-centric urban innovations.
What’s happening now is that meals are ordered via the Expo City Eats app, with a robot delivering food from various restaurants to just a single drop-off point at the offices of the basis location.
Let’s hear it from Nikita Gavrilov, Yango Tech Autonomy’s regional head: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Expo City Dubai on this pilot program. It’s clearly defined zones provide a perfectly controlled environment to safely and efficiently test autonomous technologies.”
Gavrilov added that this project is in line with the vision of Expo City as blueprints for future cities, with the auto-robots combining cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and sustainable quick delivery practices to turn up daily life in intelligent communities.
