Hola, hola, hola! If you are a driver in Puerto Rico, celebrate! There are opportunities that await you!
Lyft is soon expanding to Puerto Rico, so that means brand-new experiences to drive and earn across the island.
Puerto Rico is one of the hottest destinations on the planet, where you can visit gorgeous landmarks and attractions, such as Old San Juan, El Yunque National Forest, and Flamenco Beach. Then, there’s also the luminescent Mosquito Bay, Bacardi Rum Factory, and various beaches.
Plus, you may also explore the scenic coastal roads in Rincón, Ceiba and Ponce, as well as the mountains in Cayey and of course the bustling centers of Bayamón, and Carolina.
This is why it is ever important for tourists to get to their destinations in the most convenient way possible, or they’ll be wasting time booking rides and finding cabs.
Now, there’s Lyft for drivers to be part of these travelers’ memories. You can set your own hours, increase your income, and connect with the community.
Once Lyft launches in Puerto Rico, the company official stated drivers won’t just earn the usual income they get while driving, but also a $100 bonus for completing 50 rides within their first 30 days!
Here’s how it works. Lyft said, “At Lyft, we prioritize creating transparent features, so you’ll know what you can earn before you hit the ‘Accept’ button.”
Drivers can see their earnings and the details of each ride upfront, such as the estimated time and distance to complete the ride and distance to the pickup.
As for the fare, this depends on road conditions, the number of ride requests in the area, the number of drivers on the road, and the conditions in the destinations.
“We’ve made it easier for drivers to decide whether to accept a ride request by showing them an estimated $/hour rate for the ride on the accept screen,” Lyft added.
Lyft drivers in Puerto Rico can enjoy the following perks:
- PIN Verification: Helps you stay safe by confirming if you have the right passenger.
- Audio Recording: Enables not only drivers, but also riders to capture audio during the ride for added security. Recordings are encrypted for privacy, stored on phones, and not easily accessible.
- Share Location: Also a safety feature, it allows you to share your location and route with family and friends, so if something bad happens, they’d be ready to respond and find you easily.
- Emergency 911 Help: A feature that’s there for you when you feel uncomfortable or need emergency assistance at any point. Initiate the emergency call via the Lyft app.
- Smart Trip Check-In: A feature that makes it easier to spot unusual activity, such as rides ending up in the wrong destination, sudden cancellations, going off-route, or stopped for an abnormal period of time. With this feature, Lyft can easily reach out to passengers and drivers.
Plus, there’s also a 24/7 support that’s there with you every step of the way. Safety, guaranteed.
“Safety is a priority for all of our customers—both riders and drivers. We’ll always treat you with respect and look out for your safety, which is why our proactive safety measures are always there for you. [So, give rides and get paid],” Lyft further noted.
