Drivers are always on here begging for advice on how to better maximize their time driving and how to make more money

The Major Problem with any of this is CoOrdination! Every driver in Atlanta is not in this group and not at the airport. How do you tell everyone to turn off the app. I don’t know if it works or not but you can’t get participation because you can’t communicate/coordinate with EVERYONE. That is by design. To prevent what you all want to do. People can’t participate because they don’t know when, how, how long…

Uber seems to be cracking down on a lot of things and this would be one of those actions that they would categorize as manipulation and “not using their platform in good faith.”

but it would be next to impossible to determine why a driver was active or not. They could be eating, talking on the phone, bathroom, or napping. An administrative judge would laugh anything to the contrary out of the court.

What irony. Customers didn’t complain when Uber was introduced, and roughly 90% the fare of a cab, 60% of a black car. Drivers turned out in hordes, nobody even cared about surge. Why would they? Uber made money, drivers made money, customers didn’t have to ride in vomit filled Cabs. Drivers were people that liked their job.

Then someone, probably an MBA like me, told Teabag that he could increase subsequent finance traunche valuations by LOSING Money by lowering fares and increasing ridership and attract drivers by offering outrageous promises and bonuses. Fares have been reduced by 70%, riders have increased (usually at lower economic strata) and to even boost ridership more, Uber introduced Pool rides that compete directly with public transportation. Riders have now learned to game Pool by requesting longer rides. Each 1/10 of a mile reduces the driver’s profitability.

Uber is not your friend. They will continue to tighten the screws until the situation reaches a boiling point. Recent accidents, assaults, rapes, etc. bear this conclusion out.
