DoorDash isn’t the most popular when it comes to sweepstakes, but Postmates is. Sweepstakes are a form of gambling, sort of, wherein the prize or prizes are awarded to a winner or a set of winners by random chance.
The food delivery app is using sweepstakes and all its benefits to help those encountering nightmares in gift-giving and -receiving cope up. Here’s how it works.
From gifting nightmare to dreamland
In the arena of gift giving and more, shipping delays always happen, especially when you’re ordering your gifts and items online.
So, the food delivery platform partnered with a creative agency in Los Angeles to build on the company’s “No One Has to Know” – sounds like a Deezer song? – campaign to influence this upon DoorDash’s “Last Minute Rescue” giveaway invites to help shoppers get the chance to replace delayed gifts and other products with items delivered quickly from the DoorDash marketplace.
It isn’t just addressed to last-minute gift shoppers and gift-givers, as well as shoppers of ordinary items, but also a testament to how wide the delivery reach of DoorDash is.
“When that must-have gift doesn’t show up on time or a package doesn’t quite make the sleigh, DoorDash steps in to keep the magic on track,” stated the DoorDash head of brand and creative. “From beauty and tech to apparel and more, our holiday rescue is about getting the presents you need today — not in ‘two days.’”
She further noted that the reality remains that holidays can derail even when a person plans its best.
The sweepstakes has started and will run until December 21st, aiming to strengthen DoorDash’s push beyond food delivery to situate itself as the go-to solution for tech, beauty, apparel, toys, and more when traditional shipping fails to work. Genius idea.
Here’s how you could join. Simply fill out a form and attach screenshots of the delayed gift shipment when necessary to boost relevance. Winners receive up to $100,000 in gifts redeemable with coupon codes and links sent via email. The announcement of the winners is happening after this weekend’s festivities in various parts of the globe.
Recipes with ChatGPT, DoorDash
The DoorDash office is teeming with fresh ideas. There is a new feature that DoorDash has launched in cooperation with ChatGPT, the world’s number one AI chat program.
Using ChatGPT, recipes could be accessed, which shoppers and consumers could use when buying groceries.
Upon opening the chat, consumers could toggle DoorDash to use the plus button beside the text field to start using the app in their chat, which then connects with ChatGPT for meal or recipe suggestions in conversational language. They then get recipes tailored to their preferences.
“AI is unlocking an entirely new search and discovery experience for consumers that’s dynamic and personalized,” pointed out Andy Fang, the co-founder at DoorDash. “We’re thrilled to partner with OpenAI to create a seamless experience that allows users to quickly order ingredients for any recipe and check out directly on DoorDash. As we expand this experience to more shopping categories, our focus is on building AI tools that give people time back and make local shopping easier.”
Then, after they’re delighted with the recipe, they’d be able to shop the recipe or the cuisine via the DoorDash app. The chat app will generate a shoppable list of ingredients, ready for grocery shopping. Fun!
