DoorDash goes theatrical, too, with its latest campaign!
Previously, Ridesharingforum.com reported Lyft partnering with this theater media known as Playbill by providing rides to passengers watching shows. Plus, there are discounts, too. Playbill, together with this announcement, also revealed some perks that you shouldn’t miss, or the best and most thrilling things to do in New York City, the home of Broadway shows!
“Share a day to remember and make memories you’ll treasure forever with a visit to American Girl New York. More than a store, it’s an immersive experience for girls, families, and fans,” Playbill was stating. “Upgrade your adventure with a New Year’s Eve Ball Experience: place your own crystal on the Ball, encode it with a personalized message to display on New Year’s Eve, and take home a crystal!”
Meanwhile, for DoorDash this time, it’s all about highlighting the hockey sport. Since hockey nights carry momentous moments for the athletes and for the viewers, it is also the perfect opportunity to cultivate memories, whether this or whether this, with loved ones, friends, or people you barely know, such as acquaintances. It’s a time when diversity is the winner!
And, do you know what connects people during these watch parties? Food, none other than food.
“One of the biggest opportunities we have with our NHL partnership is to find genuine belonging for DoorDash in hockey culture, meaningfully embedding ourselves in what it means to be a hockey fan. We didn’t want to show up with merely logos and placements. The brief was essentially building a season-long creative platform rooted in the radically accepted chaos of game night,” the team behind the campaign told RSF.
Any watch party is made even better with food and beverages on the table, and nowadays, people prefer to get them delivered via food delivery apps like DoorDash, which is now the official on-demand delivery and pick-up partner of the NHL. The campaign was created in partnership with Broken Heart Love Affair, titled “What’s for Hockey,” categorized as a cinematic movie.
Broken Heart Love Affair is not an indie film studio. Rather, it is an award-winning advertising agency in Toronto, Canada serving clients who want to promote their brands and businesses.
The brand-new campaign was directed by Jack Driscoll, with the work featuring a series of living rooms on an expansive hockey rink, which you are familiar with, all filled with various people craving deliverable items.
Simultaneously, everything from hockey athletes and players like Max Domi and Evan Bouchard to Dashers traverse the ice, building an almost dance-like elegance to the chaos. It’s happiness, it’s flashy, and above all else, it reflects the fact that in almost any hockey night tradition, having easy access to food is going to make things better.
“Creatively, we knew the die-hards would be at the game or at the bar, but what about the fans watching at home, maybe only half paying attention? I immediately thought about what I love most about watching sports with friends: the spread of food. That got us thinking about hockey night as an excuse to order whatever your heart – or stomach – desires,” added another person from the creative team.
