DoorDash Has Supported More Than $106 Billion In US Economy + DashRoots Network Growing To Over 120,000 Members

Over the weekend, DoorDash unveiled its official impact report, revealing how it has supported over $106 billion in economic activity in the United States. The platform also shared how its advocacy network has already grown to over 120,000 members. Read on for the scoop.

$106 billion in US economic activity, nearly $20 billion in tax revenues

With around $42 million monthly active users, DoorDash is highly unlikely not to generate revenue that could significantly contribute to the United States economy.

On Sunday, DoorDash released its 2024 Economic Impact Report, which clearly revealed how the platform has continued to deliver for communities, supporting a whopping $106 billion in economic activity and almost $20 billion in United States tax revenues.

Now, this truly means a lot. Hundreds of thousands of businesses in the United States – not only restaurants, but also grocers, flower shops, and convenience stores – rely upon DoorDash to connect with more customers and thereby earn more profits.

”Across the US, DoorDash’s impact is felt every day whenever a consumer gets their favorite meal, groceries, or a last-minute item from a neighborhood favorite,” said Cheryl Young, Head of Policy Research at DoorDash.

Young added that the platform’s impact report details how “dashing” helps Dashers attain their goals, makes parents’ lives easier, and partners with DoorDash to support local businesses and the economy.

Furthermore, it is interesting to note how DoorDash has helped Dashers achieve their financial goals on their own terms. By spending only less than four hours per week on delivery, over seven million dashers in the United States have earned more than $16 billion on the platform.

“Dashing has helped me pay off medical and credit card debt in the past. Now, I use it mainly to bridge the gap financially if my paycheck isn’t as much as I thought it would be or if I want to treat myself and don’t have any money to do so,” a Dasher told ridesharing and food delivery media.

The DashRoots advocacy network

In June 2023, DoorDash established the DashRoots advocacy network, which is a way to tap into the platform’s potential to empower local voices.

This coalition has enabled people from all walks of life to make their voices heard on public policy issues that matter most to them.

Now, in only less than two years, the DashRoots network has grown to over 120,000 members already.

Via the DashRoots advocacy team, DoorDash is able to connect nearly 40,000 Dashers across the United States, also tapping into the world of politics.

“Local economies matter to everyone, which is why DashRoots is available to anyone. Whether you’re a Dasher, a local business owner, or just a concerned member of your community, this network was designed so that you could more easily make your voice heard in the halls of power. We’re beyond proud of the DashRoots community and of this milestone, and we know that we’re just getting started,” DoorDash stated.
