DoorDash Goes… ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s’? ‘Bag Chat’ Launches With Animatronic Hosts!

DoorDash is channeling or vibing “Five Nights at Freddy’s” with its brand-new series on social networking platforms, titled “Bag Chat.” This is since it features hosts that are animatronics.

Animatronics is an artistic take on visual characters that resemble the designs of “Blue’s Clues” or “Bananas in Pajamas,” in that they are nowadays more of associated with horror games and shows, such as “Five Nights at Freddy’s.”

This artistic technique, connected to animation, uses robotics and electronics to create life-like and moving puppets mimicking real-life animals, or humans, combining mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and artistry that reveal immersive experiences for entertainment.

“Five Nights at Freddy’s” is the famous animatronics show, not just famous, but trending as well, and if you like watching horrific characters while viewing some pizza on screen, then this is for you.

This renowned indie point-and-click survival horror video game series and show, as it has been adapted into a movie, follows animal-inspired night guards and their co-workers trying to survive their shifts while avoiding attacks from haunted and homicidal animatronic characters at fictitious pizza restaurants.

This time, DoorDash’s fresh social series online is “Bag Chat,” featuring two animatronic DoorDash bags – what else? – which is reminiscent of its previous campaign titled “The Bags.” “The Bags” is designed for entertainment, taking adueinces to a show that will remind them of a “talk show-like podcast”

Comedians who will lead and be featured on the DoorDash animatronics show are Will Gibb and Pat Doherty, lending their vocals to the animatronic bags, with episodes that are easy-to-digest, since they will run for a maximum of 40 seconds. The show covers a wide range of topics, including reality TV, temperature preferences, and humorous anecdotes.

And, it’s more than a show, since this series aims to also go enhancing the DoorDash brand’s fame, distinctiveness, and emotional connection with its audience. Currently, “Bag Chat” is available on the official Instagram of DoorDash, as well as its official YouTube channel. There are around less than 10 episodes to release, plus those in developments.

"We know that connecting with customers in unexpected ways fuels growth, and ‘Bag Chat’ was born from exactly that. The Bags started in a TV commercial, but we wanted to flip things on their head and see how the characters could evolve with a bit more freedom,” DoorDash chatted with Ridesharing Forum’s team. “Podcast clips are having such a moment right now - they cut through in a way traditional formats struggle to. So we thought: let’s make the Bags hosts and merely let them be weird for a minute. No fixed length, no hard commercial objectives, or a chance for people to really love them. The creative team brought them to life in ways we’ve never seen before, with one simple objective: have some delight and share a story.”

Meanwhile, according to the creative teams, this is a way to lead audiences to a different track, different from what they got used to before. They want to introduce technically-created shows, like those from AI, in the right ways, “each moment carrying a sales message,” they noted.

“… The more people who connect with the Bags, the more they connect with DoorDash, and that’s what makes a series like Bag Chat really exciting. Who knows what’s next?" DoorDash pointed out, too. For more food delivery news, sign up on the Ridesharing Forum website! Game on with Ridesharing Forum!
