DoorDash Focuses On Enhancing Craft Drinks Listings, Driver Caught Sneaking Customer’s Fries

This DoorDash driver is caught sneaking the French fries of their customer. Plus, the food delivery app is re-calibrating to focus more on enhancing craft drinks listings. Here’s the story.

Expansion of craft drinks listings

Craft beverages are those drinks, such as beer, coffee, or soda that smaller, more independent producers make, who emphasize top-notch ingredients, innovative flavors, artisanal production methods – like pizza or tiles – and a smaller-scale, hands-on approach to manufacturing.

There is no single universally agreed-upon definition for making craft drinks. The term “craft” usually signifies a departure from mass-produced beverages, focusing on distinctive tastes, ingredient transparency, and the story behind the brand.

You have seen apps like DoorDash focus on food orders, but this time, they are expanding their beverages section, particularly craft drinks.

DoorDash has tied up with Untappd to improve how craft beverages appear on the food delivery app.

Untappd is like the Agoda of drinks. It is a social media and discovery app for beverage enthusiasts, especially beer lovers, who could “check in” and rate their drinks, earn badges, and discover new breweries and beers.

This app works under its parent company, Next Glass. This North Carolina-based software firm has steadily expanded Untappd beyond its beginnings as a beer check-in app. Right now, it connects as much as 11 million users with partners across 80 nations.

For breweries, Untappd is the secret to digital menu publishing, supporting QR, print, and web menus. Almost 20,000 venues use the system to update beer lists, manage menus, and even promote events.

Next Glass holds a portfolio connecting drinkers and producers across Internet platforms. The company also owns BeerAdvocate, Hop Culture, and Oznr. Combined, such systems let breweries reach drinkers in so many ways – from delivery listings to online communities.

Under this partnership, how drinks appear on DoorDash is enhanced. Customers will be able to see detailed product information directly pulled from the beverage catalog of Untappd, which spans over three million beers and beverages across the globe. The goal is to improve the discovery and decision-making for customers while giving smaller producers better visibility.

This partnership also features this upgraded Producer Beverage Management tool, wherein over 5,000 drink makers already update their listings on a weekly system on Untappd. This way, it is easier for producers to gain more control over images, descriptions, and tags across Untappd and its partner platforms, ensuring companies present consistent branding, whether on the Untappd app or via DoorDash’s delivery partners.

“This partnership is a transformative step for the beverage producers we serve, improving the visibility and presence of their products for consumers looking to get craft beverages delivered through DoorDash,” stated Kyle Roderick of Next Glass.

‘Can I get some of your French fries?’

French fries are irresistible, especially if they come from restaurants like McDonald’s. You shouldn’t be surprised to find yourself getting some of your first dibs on your order right from the counter, before you even get to your table.

However, it’s weird if it’s your delivery rider doing that. In a video shared by TikTok user @bryoncleanupcrew, a delivery guy was caught getting some fries of his customer, then sealing the paper bag once again to make it appear as if nothing happened. Yes, the French fries are from McDonald’s, the World Famous Fries.

It is unclear whether the act was just staged on TikTok. What would you do if this happened to you? Share your thoughts by signing up for your account on Ridesharing Forum.
