DoorDash Calls It ‘Tricks, Treats, Trends’: America’s Favorite Halloween Candies Revealed

The Peanut Butter Cups by Reese’s and Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Creme is the most favorited.

DoorDash is creeping into Halloween as early as today, and to set the tone for the perfect October mood, the food delivery app decided to list down the most ordered chocolates and candies, comparing the results from last year. Here is your scoop.

“Halloween is creeping up once again and this year, we’re digging beyond the grave to uncover not just the most popular candies, but which nostalgic treats are crawling back from the dead,” the app stated on their newsroom official release.

Last year, the list went this way:

  • Reese’s Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
  • Gushers Tropical Fruit Flavored Snacks
  • Twix Caramel Candy Bar
  • Snickers Chocolate Candy Bar
  • Nerd’s Sweet & Tangy Gummy Cluster Candy
  • Kit Kat Milk Chocolate King Size Crisp Wafers
  • Trolli Sour Bite Crawlers Gummi Candy
  • Mike & Ike Chewy Candies Assorted Fruit Original
  • M&M’s Peanut Milk Chocolate Covered Candies
  • Airheads Xtremes Sour Belts

And, DoorDash, of course, has data to prove. This year, there’s a bit of a shake-up.

DoorDash is saying that their prediction is that 2025 is the year of the Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Creme based on the recent DoorDash orders from August until early September.

There are treats like Warheads, Lemonheads, Dum-Dums, Bit-O-Honey, Necco Wafers, and so much more that are making the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes store cringe.

Cristen Milliner, DoorDash’s consumer trends expert, stated, “We’re seeing a real revival of comfort classics this Halloween. Candy has become a kind of time capsule, with millennial parents passing down the staples they grew up with, while Gen Z and Gen Alpha are reinterpreting those same treats as retro comfort. What might have once been written off as ‘cringe’ by younger generations is now being embraced as feel-good nostalgia. The resurgence of items like grandma candy and Baby Bottle Pop shows how different generations might be finding joy in the same classics, just in their own way.”

Meanwhile, in a shift from last year’s figures, DoorDash also accounted for what the favorite treats are in each state. Down south, gummies and chocolates came out on top across the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

In the Northeast and Midwest, which include the states of Illinois, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, they are believers of Team Twizzlers while in the West Coast, Red Vines rule in the states of Arizona, Idaho and Montana.

“Trolli gummies dominated in Georgia, Rhode Island, and Texas, while Laffy Taffy was a favorite in Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska, proving chewy classics are alive and well,” DoorDash noted.

Sour candies are the favorites in New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Utah, while it’s Cadbury in Hawaii, Airheads in Massachusetts, Haribo in Colorado, and Skittles in Utah.

Happy Halloween from DoorDash! It’s going to be amazing.
