Dog Chewing Amazon Package + Experts Digest ICE’s Arrest Of Amazon Flex Staff

A busy Monday for everyone. First, an Amazon package delivery went awry when the customer’s dog chewed on the package, and it was the fault of the driver who failed to follow the instructions. Second, experts weigh in on ICE’s controversial, recent arrest of Amazon Flex workers. Here’s the scoop.

Customer, dog vs. Amazon delivery rider

TikToker Kingsley, who goes by the handle @kingsleyt24 posted on the app a clip re-telling his mis-adventures with a recent Amazon delivery.

He knew it wasn’t his fault, and the netizens following him, too, but here’s when things went wrong.

In the video, he emphasized how he instructed the driver, “Please leave on trash or recycle bin, my dog will chew the package. Thank you.”

He also pointed to a disclaimer that reads in italics, “Your instructions help us deliver your package to your expectations and will be used when possible.”

Whether or not the driver intentionally miscalculated the instructions since he maybe wanted to see how the action would happen, the video showed a recording of the driver walking from his parked car in the stormy night towards the customer’s front gate. Instead of placing the item in the garbage bins beside the entrance, he nonchalantly chucked it over the gate, which the customer’s Australian Kelpie has always wanted.

With sarcasm

And so, it happened. The dog chewed on the package, and the item didn’t arrive in the best condition, perhaps among the worst.

“Thanks, Amazon,” the TikToker captioned the post with sarcasm. “Thank you for taking my delivery instructions into consideration Amazon.”

The video has already garnered around three million views, as of this time of research, and netizens are fuming for what the customer experienced.

“Amazon gives you the option to leave delivery instructions for a reason. If the drivers aren’t going to follow them, why bother giving us the option?” a netizen complained.

Let’s think about this.

Meanwhile, in other Amazon news

Previously, Ridesharing Forum reported about ICE officers arresting Amazon Flex workers in Michigan. Too bad, too bad.

On February 2nd, ICE – the ever-controversial agents roaming the country right now – arrested Amazon Flex workers in Hazel Park, Michigan. The two workers were Venezuelans, captured by ICE agents after vehemently entering Amazon delivery facilities in Hazel Park for work. Both were asylum seekers holding Temporary Protected Status.

Those who are staunch supporters of ICE, some others do not agree with their objectives.

Experts from a socialist website stated vehemently that this only shows “the exploitative nature” of the gig economy apps, like Amazon Flex.

In other words, the blame goes to both sides: the government and the business.

“The ongoing ICE rampage in Minneapolis and across the country has made it clear that this terror operation is not only aimed at the immigrant community but at the working class as a whole, native- and foreign-born alike,” the socialist website correspondent, Joshua Rodriguez, told Ridesharing Forum. “The targeting of Amazon Flex drivers in particular is especially significant, due to the fact that a considerable number of gig workers are immigrants who take on these highly exploitative positions when they are faced with no other means of employment.”
