DiDi Chuxing’s Affiliate Launches Ultra-Fast Super-Charger

Orange Charging, the affiliate of DiDi Chuxing, has launched a super-charger working at ultra-fast speeds. Here’s more.

Super-charger from DiDi Chuxing

The affiliate, Orange Charging, has, as of late, introduced a liquid-cooled, flexible, and shared megawatt supercharging pile recently. In the world of cars, supercharging piles are electric vehicles featuring a high-powered charging station that delivers significantly faster charging speeds than standard second-level chargers.

However, this particular super-charger from Orange Charging is capable of delivering a maximum output of 1,600 kW. This development also promises to add a 100-kilometer range in just a minute of charging.

Furthermore, the pile is equipped with the upgraded Orange Charging unicorn OS intelligent system, enabling the most flexible power distribution.

Right now, the Orange Charging system boasts more than 46,000 charging stations, with over 47 percent offering a single-gun maximum charging power of 180kW or more.

Experts are seeing this unveiling aligning with a broader industry trend moving to megawatt flash charging, which is a technological innovation designed to reduce EV charging times drastically, aiming to make them comparable to having to refuel a gasoline vehicle. Also investing in this area are Huawei, BYD, and more.

What does it mean for DiDi? Well, it only means it has more opportunities and options when it comes to vehicles it and its drivers use on the road.

News recap

For some reason or another, it’s all over the news again. China’s globally-renowned ridesharing app DiDi Chuxing has a new investor. No other than Apple. And the photos of Apple’s leader, Tim Cook, won’t lie. Ridesharing Forum has more.

The investment, not divestment, was $1 billion. Cook stated it is for strategic reasons, who is shown in images two hands up in the air, showcasing success.

Cook stated, “We are making the investment for a number of strategic reasons, including a chance to learn more about certain segments of the China market. Of course, we believe it will deliver a strong return for our invested capital over time as well.”

DiDi Chuxing is the largest ridesharing service in China, offering both taxi and private car reservations.

“Didi exemplifies the innovation taking place in the iOS developer community in China,” Cook said. “We are extremely impressed by the business they’ve built and their excellent leadership team, and we look forward to supporting them as they grow.”
