Deliveroo Soon Crowning UK’s Best Kebab Sensation With This Darts Player On The Judging Table

To thrive in this niche’s competition, businesses need to think of cool gimmicks. This is precisely what Deliveroo is doing as it seeks to crown the best kebab sensation in the United Kingdom.

Kebab may be a Middle Eastern staple, but it has grown in popularity in the European nation because of its affordability, taste, and convenience. For instance, if you’re in a hurry to catch your flight at the Heathrow Airport, you can just grab a kebab as they are everywhere in the British city.

So, the United Kingdom’s very own Deliveroo has thought of a way to pay homage to the foreign food that has made its way to the country – by crowning the nation’s best kebab or “bab,” with the help of a darts champion, Luke Littler.

This darts superstar has been tapped to be at the “judging table” to decide which kebab will win.

The official Deliveroo newsroom released new imagery wherein the darts player was seen swapping the darts hall for a kebab joint, where he also announced the award, returning after a three-year hiatus.

“Whether it’s chicken tikka or lamb, there are three steps to a tasty kebab: juicy lean meat, fresh salad, all wrapped up in soft bread. The final check-out and making the perfect kebab is tough, but these restaurants on Deliveroo are doing it right,” the darts superstar stated. “I can’t see any misses in this list, so it’s over to you to get voting. Game on.”

There are several features of the competition this year. For instance, there’s the specially-created golden trophy, following the shape of a chicken shish, which will be awarded to the winning kebab restaurant.

You will see Luke Littler with a glistening, golden kebab in one grip and a grilled chicken shish on the other. Perfect pair.

Those images are the most ideal representation of encouraging the locals to also do the same – get inspired and pose with their favorite kebab products.

Without further ado, here are the top 10 finalists: Coral Reef Takeaway in Crewe, Emmy’s Pitta in Coventry, George’s Tradition in Mansfield, Konak in Leicester, Mraya in Nottingham, My Greek Street Food in Eccles, Sqew Kebabs in Leeds, Tarboush Express in Loughborough, The Kebab Lab in Burnley, and Yara in Warrington.

Deliveroo’s CEO and founder, Will Shu, stated, “The restaurants in the running are serving kebabs of incredible quality and have built loyal followings in their local communities. We want to recognise those doing it best – so get voting for your favourite restaurants nominated for the award.”

The project is more than just a competition. It is also a way for Brits to support their local restaurants. Voting closes on May 9th.
