Cut To Good Day, It’s Halloween: Uber Australia Goes Geeky With Their New Campaign

Spooky season means discovering the world around you, especially in Australia, where Uber is making waves to shine once more. The ridesharing app’s division in this Pacific country has unveiled their newest campaign. It is known, “Can’t Do That If You’re Driving.” Here’s the story.

The newest campaign of Uber Australia

Maybe those passengers were once drivers, right? In this new ad of Uber Australia, Australian celebrity – Tom Cardy, a comedian-musician – in collaboration with Canadian country-pop icon, Shania Twain, performed their original song from the passenger’s seat of their Uber, celebrating things you couldn’t do while driving.

Uber Australia and New Zealand’s head of marketing, Nicole Bardsley, stated about this campaign, with no hesitations: “Can’t do that if you’re driving’ celebrates all the joyful, playful moments that happen in the backseat. We are [thrilled to unlock the potential of this new campaign platform and can’t wait to continue to work on] it.”

This campaign is further noting how this approach taps into the strong attachment of Australia into car ownership, pointing out the freedom and fun of being a passenger at the rear, showcasing the quirky, spontaneous, and relaxing activities passengers could enjoy on their Uber car, for they got the right, or experiences that drivers couldn’t help but just their time agreeing on.

Cut through the scenes wherein these passengers end their day, either swiping dating applications to catching up on their sleep from their tours around.

“For decades, pop culture has tried to convince us that driving is a freeing experience. But when you stop to [think about it, it’s just not real.] You can do way more fun stuff in the back of an Uber than when you’re behind the wheel. We figured it was time someone pointed that out,” the creative team behind this campaign stated, too. Talks inside Uber rides as passengers with drivers thinking they own the road are plain boring.
