Cooking Magazine Ranks Your Favorite Food Delivery Apps From Best To Worst: Postmates At No. 5, Toast Follows Suit, See Which Made It

The moment you think that your favorite delivery app is number one in the hearts of consumers, think again. If you find out that your preferred food delivery app isn’t the top, will you change your preference?

Renowned cooking magazine Daily Meal unveiled their rankings of the best and the worst food delivery apps. In summary, DoorDash claimed the top spot, with favorites like Grubhub and Postmates on the list. Here’s more.

The list is as follows, from best to worst:

  • DoorDash
  • Uber Eats
  • Instacart
  • Grubhub
  • Postmates
  • Gopuff
  • Seamless
  • Toast
  • Caviar (yes, there’s a name like that)

DoorDash is undisputed number one, and that should give that sigh of relief. Daily Meal recalled the legacy of DoorDash.

“While no food delivery company is perfect, there is one that comes close. Since its founding in 2013, DoorDash has exploded in popularity, becoming a staple in over 40 countries around the world. Known for its timely customer service, large selection of restaurants, and competitive membership offerings, it’s a great choice when it comes to meal delivery,” the Daily Meal correspondent stated.

Coming in at number two is Uber Eats, which is always interesting, since Uber is the number one ridesharing app, but their food delivery arm is only second-best.

“While I do feel that this app is sometimes too expensive and has long wait times for items, I appreciate it for the great promotions it has on select restaurants,” Eva Merrill said.

In the third spot is Instacart, which superseded Grubhub and Postmates by working directly with over 1,500 grocery retailers to populate the app, allowing consumers to easily build their grocery delivery orders from whichever supermarket they wish.

Trailing behind Grubhub, which, even though it serves around 4,000 cities across the USA, is still at number four. Merrill pointed out that the reasons could be “the several recurring issues with the app’s interface and customer service.”

After Grubhub is Postmates, which is interesting how it landed on this spot, considering its silence and timidness in the general public.

The Daily Meal – which is a wordplay for The Daily Mail newspaper – stated how Postmates has become the secondary version of Uber Eats, but it came not close to the number one spot for “the app feels less unique” despite the competitive prices and availability of deals more than in other apps.

Following Postmates are Gopuff – a Pennsylvania-based grocery delivery app known for bringing food, drinks, alcohol, and household goods to your door in as little as 15 minutes – Seamless – preferred by the people of New York City – and Toast.

“Founded in 2011, Toast is a food pick-up and delivery service that caters to major cities across the country,” Daily Meal stated.

And, rounding out the nine is Caviar. A witty name for a food delivery service that curates a wide array of high-end, gourmet restaurants that might not otherwise offer delivery. For more food delivery news, keep browsing this Ridesharing Forum site.
