You might think - who are these companies that DoorDash is tying up with? Well, the world’s number one food delivery app is liking it small yet significant. With this newest partnership together with Binny’s Beverage Depot, it’s tapping into the Chicagoans and the tourists there’s love for tasty alcohol.

Binny’s Beverage Depot has quite a story to tell. The catalog offers spirits, wine, and beer. Your favorite brands are there, such as Steep Ridge, Clark & Sheffield, and Allan Scott, plus so much more.

This brand is known to value integrity, expertise, education, selection, and hospitality. It is a family-owned business for over 75 years. What began as a single neighborhood shop has developed to become among the most trusted names in wines, spirits, beer, and more. Through decades of change, one thing is constant: the Binny’s Beverage Depot’s family’s commitment to helping customers find the right bottle for every occasion.

Chicagoans love for alcohol cannot be denied. The Chicago Sun-Times newspaper admits it: “Chicago is a drinker’s paradise… even for the sober and the sober-curious…”

“Rudy Valenta, also 38, says in the past he would order multiple booze-infused drinks while out with friends. Today, although he still drinks alcohol, Valenta says he often goes for an alcohol-free Heineken or a mocktail,” correspondent Ximena N. Beltran Quan Kiu wrote.

DoorDash is looking at this love for alcohol as the ideal opportunity to partner with a beverage brand, such as the depot.

The partnership was just announced recently, and it’s incredible. With more than 40 locations across the Prairie State, consumers could order beer, wine, spirits, seltzers, non-alcoholic beverages, bar essentials, and so much more on demand. This partnership expands the selection available via DoorDash, adding to the over 11,000 grocery convenience and liquir retailers in the USA, offering alcohol through the platform.

“Binny’s entered the delivery business on foot from its first Chicago neighborhood store in 1948. That evolved to bicycles, and then vans, trucks, and couriers. We’re excited to work with DoorDash in the next step in our eight decade journey of serving the customer,” stated Greg Versch, the communications director of Binny’s Beverage Depot.

The depot is also making their items available via DashPass, the official membership program of DoorDash, offering $0 delivery fee and reduced service fees on eligible orders from thousands of restaurants, groceries, and convenience stores across the country.

This means that consumers could order the depot’s products in 35 states, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

“DoorDash is committed to delivering a safe and responsible alcohol delivery experience for consumers, Dashers, and merchants,” DoorDash told Ridesharing Forum.

DoorDash’s general manager for alcohol and regulated items Jacob Morello pointed out Binny’s Beverage Depot is a beloved destination for Chicagoans, and the app is beyond the thrill to bring their extensive beer, wine, spirits, and more selections to DoorDash.

"With Binny’s Beverage Depot now on DoorDash, it’s even easier to get what’s needed in a few taps, whether that’s date-night wine, a new ready-to-drink cocktail, or the mixer missing for at-home drinks,” Morello added.
