The world’s favorite food stop for Buffalo wings, Wingstop, has been in existence since 1994. Meanwhile, one of the world’s preferred food delivery apps, DoorDash, started in 2013. Did you know that these two companies have been in partnership for almost a decade now, and they are presently celebrating this. Here’s the scoop.
This partnership is one that has helped define how food adventurers experience flavor in a digital-first world. Since their first team-up in 2018, the food delivery app and Wingstop have catapulted themselves to become industry leaders, powering billions of dollars in delivery sales. With the renewal of a multi-year delivery partnership, this shared success has continued to fuel the future of convenience, flavor, and growth.
“Wingstop has been on a digital transformation,” stated Mark Christenson, the chief revenue officer of Wingstop. “From growing our delivery business into a billion-dollar channel to reaching new fans globally, this partnership shows what’s possible when digital powerhouses grow together – anchored in innovation, technology, and flavor.”
Wingstop is multinational, headquartered in America. It is a chain of fast-casual restaurants that serve chicken wings, their most-favored dish. They are known for their “cooked-to-order” wings, coming in various flavors. Plus, they also serve boneless wings, chicken tenders, and sides. However, the prices in here are at the mid-range.
“Wingstop shares our vision for a digital-first, frictionless dining experience built on speed, quality, and accessibility, and we’re proud to partner with them,” stated Lee Brown, DoorDash’s chief revenue officer. “Our renewed partnership reflects a continued commitment to operational excellence, growth, and meeting guests where they are. Together, we’re redefining what great delivery looks like for guests around the world – fast, flavorful, and reliable.”
The partnership is coming in on all fronts. It starts with the digital presence of Wingstop, which only continues to accelerate, achieving over 70 percent of sales from digital channels, up from 40 percent just five years ago.
Powered by the new Wingstop Smart Kitchen feature, through this partnership, average ticket times were reduced by up to 40 percent, allowing consumers on DoorDash to receive cooked-to-order wings in just within half an hour.
This speed, thank you to technology, has catapulted Wingstop to be part of DoorDash’s Fastest Near You restaurants, which is why they are favored by customers who want their food delivered and served fast.
Plus, you wouldn’t believe that both brands are also sharing the space as official NBA partners. DoorDash is the NBA’s Official On-Demand Delivery Platform, while Wingstop is the NBA’s Official Chicken Wing, connecting basketball fans with the flavors they crave, faster than ever before in the past.
It’s easy to order via DoorDash. Simply log in to the app, search for the food you crave, or the restaurant, then order. Track your order as you wait for them to get delivered for you at your doorstep. Voila!
