Careem Welcomes Canada, Bangladesh To Their Growing Global Remittance Network

To fulfill the goal of Careem – the super-app of the Middle East – to simplify its financial services in the region through a thematic payments platform, thanks to Careem Pay, there will now be international remittance services in Canada and Bangladesh. These services will offer international transfers, P2P payments, bill payments, and digital wallet features. Here’s the story.

Bangladesh, Canada welcomed to Careem’s remittance network

Remittance is among the biggest sources of a country’s income, flowed in by the local workers. Recently, Careem Pay expanded its global remittance services to welcome Canada and Bangladesh. With their participation, residents in the United Arab Emirates could now transfer money directly via bank accounts within those countries in rates that are competitive.

“We’re excited to extend our money transfer service to two important expat communities in the UAE. Following the expansion of our remittance corridors to [over 30 countries,] Canada and Bangladesh were natural next steps. From supporting families and covering school fees to managing properties and financial commitments back home, we wanted to make cross-border transfers simpler, faster, and more affordable for both Canadian and Bangladeshi expats,” Mohammad El Saadi, the deputy of Careem Pay, stated.

With this move, Careem Pay’s growing footprint in the remittance market of the region is strengthened, as it currently now administers transfers to several countries, including India, Pakistan, Great Britain, and more countries in Europe.

This enhanced service offers quicker and more secure transfers, with some payments processing and completing in as little as seven seconds. Members of Careem Plus are also bound to receive preferential rates on transfers via Careem Pay.

Specifically, customers could already transfer up to around over $40,000 for each transaction and more than $120,000 monthly to Canada. In Bangladesh, they can transfer up to over $24,000 per transaction and over $54,000 monthly.

Plus, to celebrate the launch further, Careem Pay is offering a percentage of cashback up to $27 on a customer’s first transfer to Canada when sending around over $540 or more using the voucher code CANADA. Aren’t those incredible?
