Not that Careem does not possess such a wide food delivery range, but it is simply learning its lesson from DoorDash, as reported on Ridesharing Forum the other day, or last night.
According to the previous report, it is revealed that DoorDash is only touching around 20 percent of the restaurants in the USA, and this isn’t happening until 2035. Surprising revelations there.
To prevent limits on the available restaurants on the app, the company is launching “Far-Away Gems,” a campaign designed to double its food delivery range, bringing additional restaurants into the customers’ ordering range.
This will significantly widen Careem’s food delivery radius, allowing customers and beautiful Dubai and Abu Dhabi to order the food they love from restaurants, even those farther away from where they are. As you know, many restaurants cannot establish branches across every vicinity in a certain city.
"The UAE is home to some truly extraordinary restaurants that have built loyal followings over the years, sometimes decades. People search for them, recommend them, and make the trip across the city just to eat there. But for most customers, ordering from them has never been an option. Far-Away Gems changes that. It is our way of making sure that where you live is never the reason you miss out on a great meal,” stated Nourhan Farhat, deputy of Marketplace Businesses in Careem.
This Far-Away Gems campaign has a catalog of brand-new restaurants on the app under its wing. Some of the best are:
- Al Ustad Special Kabab: An institution in UAE’s food scene that gastronomic fans love.
- Café De Paris: A restaurant that brings the taste of classic French café culture to the UAE.
- Aqaya: A preferred place for specialty coffee, and crafted sweet and savory delights.
- Al Sultan Restaurant & Grills: A neighborhood favorite for grilled meats and more Middle Eastern flavors.
- Pechka: Known for its Eastern European comfort food and wood-fired flavors.
Those are not the only restaurants signed up, but there are over a whopping 600 restaurants on the list from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
This list was put up by the teams using a defined criteria set, focusing on businesses that are highly-rated, well-loved around, and historically-accessible for many UAE residents.
This collaboration and campaign launch respond to the customers’ demands and those looking for restaurants farther away from them, simply because they are craving for the food they offer.
The Far-Away Gems feature is already live for customers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, accessible via the official Careem app under the Food category.
