If you are around Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, you might see these Grubhub food delivery robots again. Well, they’re back to serve the students and the faculty, and they even have a photoshoot by the university logo! RSF has more.
Bowling Green States University has summoned a brand-newest batch of food delivery robots to the campus.
Yes, of course, this is still in partnership with Avride, like other delivery robots in other universities. However, for this Ohio university, they’re contacting Avride anew, since they ended their partnership previously with Starship Technologies.
The newest robots are all-dolled-up, in colorways of white and orange.
They are to expand on-campus delivery options and carry larger capacity, according to the official press release from BGSU Dining.
Students and faculty need these food delivery robots to make getting meals more convenient, since, let’s admit it, these people really won’t have lots of time preparing their meals since catching the start of classes each day is like catching deadlines for corporate professionals.
Avride, the partner, is working with Grubhub to host the online ordering.
The food delivery robots will work with university meal plans, in-campus debit system Falcon Dollars, and the BG1 Bucks prepaid account. The delivery robots will also accept credit and debit cards as modes of payment.
However, it’s easier now since students and teachers can place and track their orders via a single app.
BGSU Dining also stated that these new batch of delivery robots will double the capacity of the previous robots, able to carry several meals and a wide range of menu items, including six extra-large pizzas and five 1.5-liter bottles of beverages at a time.
It could be always a party in this university!
This August 17th, the food delivery robots will be fully-operational, and may reportedly expand even beyond the campus in the future.
Bowling Green State University is the first university in the Buckeye State to offer autonomous delivery services.
