Arizona Police Deliver Pizza To Customer After Grubhub Rider’s Arrest: ‘Should Still Be Warm’

Sometimes, when a Grubhub delivery rider finds themselves in absolute mayhem, then gets arrested, the police take over… delivering the orders. Here’s the Ridesharing Forum scoop.

Viral and integral

The Tempe Police Department in Arizona posted a viral video of their officers delivering pizza orders to a customer after their Grubhub driver got arrested.

The video was taken from the camera by the customer’s door.

“When a delivery driver was arrested during a traffic stop, our officers made sure the pizza still got to the customer. The order was Hot-N-Ready, and the suspect was Caught-N-Steady. (emojis) We’re committed to serving our community 24/7—whether it’s safety or pizza delivery!” the caption of the video uploaded on the official Facebook page of the police department stated.

Right now, it has garnered over 150 reactions and various comments from the general public.

Netizen Robin Schmid wrote, “A good argument to not ‘pre-tip.’”

Meanwhile, for Susan Bracamonte, she was amazined, saying, “That is so cool!”

“Stupid,” Jim Kirby said, meanwhile, sadly.

This priceless act apparently happened last July 4th, captured on video alongside the customer surprised to get their pizza from the police, instead of from Grubhub. It was only recently that Grubhub decided to share about this.

The shocked customer then opened the door to find two police officers with her pizza order.

“How are you doing?” one of the officers asked her.

“Good. How are you?” she replied.

“Very good. Brandy?” the officer holding the pizza asked to verify her name and her address.

“Yes,” she confirmed.

Until the police officers completed the picture, saying, “So your GrubHub guy got arrested, so we still delivered your pizza.”

The customer’s mouth dropped open. Good thing she still got her order.

Further details

When Grubhub fails to get the orders to customers, the police department takes over, which is a nice act.

“I really appreciate the pizza,” the customer continued after learning what happened to her Grubhub driver.

“It still should be warm,” the police officer provided optimism.

As to why the Grubhub driver got arrested, authorities told the Ridesharing Forum the delivery driver got imprisoned on charges of reckless driving and racing.

Grubhub is yet to release their official statement.

In other Grubhub news, the Prime Day celebrations over at Grubhub was a success. Prime Day happened over the past few days this July.

There were Prime Day food deals on groceries, Grubhub, and so much more, such as on Navitas Organics Chia Seeds, Rice Krispies Treats Minis Variety Pack, Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers - Rosemary & Sea Salt, Nabisco Team Favorites Variety Pack, Mott’s Applesauce Variety Pack, and others.

Free Grubhub memberships were also given away with the customers’ Amazon Prime Day membership.
