Amazon is gearing up for some conspicuous changes in its Premium Shipping feature the following month. Plus, some Amazon mishap in Arizona? Whoa! Here’s the story.
Big changes in Premium Shipping
Several people will give up things to avail of Amazon’s Premium Shipping. Why shouldn’t they? This feature is useful since it offers way faster delivery options and ensures delivery by a date on the dot. This is seen to improve customer satisfaction and potentially improve sales. It is also a way to benefit sellers to demonstrate their commitment to efficient deliveries, helping attract customers who value speed and reliability.
Amazon sellers must spearhead the changes. They must be the first to implement the changes. Those offering Premium Shipping options must adjust to new on-time delivery pre-requisites beginning next month.
More about Premium Shipping, this enables sellers to offer one-day and two-day delivery to shoppers using their very own shipping methods, instead of Amazon’s in-house network. However, sellers must comply to on-time delivery rates of 97 percent, evaluated on a one-month basis, so they can stay eligible.
This June, the delivery requirement will drop to just 93.5 percent – not a huge drop – but it seems negligible since performance will be reviewed on a weekly basis. Shippers who don’t meet the parameters will receive two warnings before they get kicked out of the program on the third infraction for this requirement.
Experts are interpreting what this means for sellers, negative on this, but they recommended tips so they can find their way through the program.
“Under the new cadence, a single bad week can put you on notice, and three such weeks in a month spell immediate removal from Premium Shipping,” Indy Pereria, head of people operations at fulfillment provider Cahoot, stated in their evaluation of the changes. “You’ll need more consistent performance throughout each month, not just a healthy 30-day aggregate.”
Cahoot, which is also a word that means “alliance” or “partnership,” is an order fulfillment network of eCommerce merchants.
Dust storm in Arizona due to… Amazon drones?
A couple in Arizona was patiently and solemnly waiting for their orders when they noticed something “loud.”
With the blades of a drone, it is highly unlikely that it can cause a dust storm, but it did. In Arizona, the landscape is made up of some dust, so a simple maneuvering of a drone can trigger a storm.
The couple was forced to retreat inside to their home.
Dust storms can significantly impact an individual’s health, primarily affecting their respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
When inhaled, the dust particles can trigger inflammation, allergic reactions, and asthma attacks, leading to coughing, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. Worst-case scenario, dust particles can contribute to the development of chronic lung diseases and cardiovascular problems.
Not only could drones take your jobs, but they could take away your lives, too.
